About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Managing a book of business, policy quotes and carrier liaison for assigned clients/groups
  • Regularly interacting with new and existing clients while being responsible for devising creative solutions to meet client needs as to coverage and costs
  • Exercising discretion and independent judgment on significant accounts including but not limited to negotiation of product pricing
  • Interviewing clients; collecting and analyzing information regarding the client and assisting in product and pricing determinations
  • Affecting, interpreting, and implementing various company policies regarding the specific factual circumstances of each client
  • Guiding clients and internal team members on compliance and regulatory policies to meet industry standard requirements
  • Providing monthly claim reports from carriers to all clients
  • Overseeing the status of wellness strategy and programs for clients
  • Reviewing the open enrollment process and ensuring proper changes
  • Supporting clients with renewal and insurance communication for employees
  • Providing guidance for learning webinars, video tutorials with brokers to ensure proper launch strategy for the clients
  • Assisting with escalated client issues and partnering with claims department when necessary
  • Partnering with the legal team to communicate changes or updates per regulatory requirements
  • Meeting regularly with brokers to keep up with industry standards, insurance products, current rates, coverages, insurance policies, and carriers
  • Managing RFPs, non-renewals, and cancellation requests to retain business where appropriate

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 4+ years of large complex employee benefits experience within an insurance related industry with an emphasis on Self-Funded, Level Funded and Large Group Clients
  • Active Insurance License in Health and Life
  • Ability to work toward professional designation
  • Strong computer skills and a high level of comfort in a virtual work setting
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to work well on a team
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities
