About the role
- Assists clients with coverage changes in an automated environment supported by an imaging system
- Determines whether delayed or advanced billing is appropriate and invoices accordingly
- Uses each client contact as an opportunity to review the entire account, round it out, and market as needed
- Informs and educates clients about policy coverages, changes, exclusions, and insurance coverage needs
- Provides technical support to producer(s) to benefit clients and support the agency’s strategic business goals
- Prepares proposals in coordination with producer(s)
- Submits applications to eligible and appropriate carriers
- Obtains client signatures on applications as necessary; follows up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies
- Manages clients’ needs by producing binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and related items, verifying their accuracy
- Prepares summaries of insurance, schedules, and proposals as needed for account reviews
- Remarkets renewals, contacts clients, creates renewal proposals, and handles other renewal activities in coordination with producer(s)
- Renews policies following agency standards; verifies each renewal’s accuracy and ensures all renewals are produced
- Reviews policy audits, verifies accuracy, and facilitates corrections between the client and carrier as needed
- Maintains and updates electronic and client activity files
- Verifies policy and policy change information, facilitating corrections when necessary
- Processes incoming mail requests, responding promptly and appropriately
- Verifies the accuracy of all direct-billed cancellations and takes appropriate corrective action when needed
- Uses the agency credit and collection policy when invoicing and pursuing prompt payments
- Processes and follows up on cancellation requests to carriers to ensure accurate and timely resolution; maintains agency financial equity whenever possible
- Leaves accurate documentation of all contacts
- Refers current and prospective clients to the Life/Benefits Department
- Assists in designing, or independently designs, insurance plans for clients as assigned and directed by agency management or producer(s)
- Assists with or completes other tasks as directed by agency management or producer(s)
- Attends client meetings at their locations as necessary
- Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely, and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities
- Maintains a cordial and effective relationship with clients, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and other business contacts
- Stays informed regarding industry trends, new products, legislation, coverages, and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance
- Interacts effectively with others by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully, and providing information and guidance as needed to achieve agency business goals
- Performs technical tasks to expedite client services
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience as a Commercial Lines Account Manager supporting complex, large construction clientele within Florida
- Applied Epic proficiency
- Active P&C 2-20 license
- Full knowledge of insurance products, markets, and usage
- Adequate knowledge of rating procedures, coverage, and industry operations to effectively manage, maintain, and underwrite assigned client and prospect lists
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CIC or CRIS designations
