About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Refine journal scope in collaboration with ACMG leadership and the publisher
- Recruit and mentor an international Editorial Board
- Oversee the peer review process with the assistance of staff
- Make final publication decisions
- Commission content, including Special Issues
- Promote the journal globally at scientific meetings and through professional networks
- Attract high-quality international submissions
- Engage ACMG membership and other stakeholders to grow readership, authorship, and editorial participation
- Represent the journal at key conferences
- Monitor key performance metrics, including submissions, decisions, and citations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong scholarly record in translational genomics or a related field
- Peer-reviewed publishing experience as an author and/or editor
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and lead an international team of editors
- Demonstrated ability to articulate and execute a strategic vision for journal growth and development
- Commitment to scientific integrity, rigor, and inclusivity in publishing
- Editorial experience at a biomedical or genetics journal (preferred)
- Active international engagement (preferred)
- Familiarity with open access publishing (preferred)
