About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Refine journal scope in collaboration with ACMG leadership and the publisher
Recruit and mentor an international Editorial Board
Oversee the peer review process with the assistance of staff
Make final publication decisions
Commission content, including Special Issues
Promote the journal globally at scientific meetings and through professional networks
Attract high-quality international submissions
Engage ACMG membership and other stakeholders to grow readership, authorship, and editorial participation
Represent the journal at key conferences
Monitor key performance metrics, including submissions, decisions, and citations

Requirements

What you’ll need

Strong scholarly record in translational genomics or a related field
Peer-reviewed publishing experience as an author and/or editor
Collaborative leadership style with the ability to build and lead an international team of editors
Demonstrated ability to articulate and execute a strategic vision for journal growth and development
Commitment to scientific integrity, rigor, and inclusivity in publishing
Editorial experience at a biomedical or genetics journal (preferred)
Active international engagement (preferred)
Familiarity with open access publishing (preferred)
