About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Install, program, service, diagnose, and repair fire alarm and physical security systems
- Serve as the point of contact for system service
- Manage installation projects and project budgets
- Lead service and installation project crews
- Work with customers on integrating related building systems
- Perform preventative maintenance required by service and maintenance contracts
- Troubleshoot issues remotely using provided software and an internet connection
- Travel continuously to customer locations throughout Florida and Georgia
- Research and resolve equipment issues independently
- Perform special projects and other assigned duties
- Assist with technical support issues as needed
Requirements
What you’ll need- Electrical background and knowledge of electronic equipment
- Low-voltage experience with relays, loops, and inputs/outputs
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems and test equipment
- Ability to diagnose and repair systems efficiently at customer locations
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- PC skills, including Microsoft Office and Command Prompt
- Ability to learn manufacturer-specific software
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to read schematics and understand relay logic
- Ability to travel to project locations
- Experience reading blueprints and operational materials
- References, background check, drug screen testing, and valid driver’s license required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related position/field
- Post-secondary certificate preferred
- NICET II certification or higher preferred
- Ability to work in varied weather, heights up to 90 feet, confined spaces, and construction environments
- Required personal tools
- Ability to work 40 hours per week plus overtime as required
- Night shifts, weekends, and out-of-town work may be required
- Ability to safely use power tools and two-handed tools
- Ability to read maps, manuals, directions, and written instructions
- Adequate hearing and vision, naturally or with correction
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds
- Tolerance for prolonged standing and movement on foot
- Ability to perform repetitive arm, hand, and finger movements and full-day overhead work
