About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Contribute to developing annual budgets and strategic objectives
- Lead business development teams and collaborate with leaders across business units, regions, and functions to identify and pursue opportunities
- Review and contribute to proposals, whitepapers, and other materials
- Develop and maintain a wide industry network and monitor industry and market activity
- Select and develop senior leaders, assign accountabilities, set objectives, and establish priorities
- Conduct annual and periodic reviews of assigned senior leaders, including incentive compensation and salary adjustments within budget parameters
- Monitor client relationships and ensure engagement objectives and service delivery are met
- Identify improvement opportunities to position the firm for repeat or new work
- Maintain relationships with large clients and conduct regular outreach
- Evaluate contracts and backlog for risk exposure and develop mitigation strategies
- Participate in industry and civic organizations
- Serve as a subject matter expert for current and prospective client relationships
- Contribute thought leadership internally and through social media, conferences, and other events
- Provide industry insight and guidance in internal and client-facing meetings
- Oversee project teams and advise on client capital projects from concept through completion, handover, upgrades, and retrofits
- Oversee programs/projects and align construction activities with client goals, budgets, and timelines
- Work with architects, engineers, and general contractors
- Identify construction and commissioning risks and develop mitigation plans
- Foster communication and collaboration among project teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Work independently to grow data center capital projects work
- Travel to meet clients or oversee projects
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying
- 10+ years professional experience progressing in quantity surveying or cost management
- 5+ years experience in the data center industry
- 3+ years experience with Hyperscale (>30MW) Data Centers
- 8+ years of demonstrated functional knowledge of contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications
- Some travel required
- Demonstrated ability to think ahead and plan over a 3 to 5 year time span
- Experience leading large markets or business sectors
- Experience leading and developing teams
- Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results through others
- PE, CCM, PMP, CFE, COA, LEED and/or Master’s Degree
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer skills
- Proficient in reading and understanding contract documents, plans and specifications
- Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project and/or Primavera
