About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Build and maintain cost models, perform scenario analysis, and prepare cash flow estimates for the monthly present estimate (PE) process
- Analyze cost and schedule impacts of scope changes and trends, delivering presentations of numerical analysis
- Monitor and update project budgets and actuals, provide financial and cost reporting, perform trending analysis, and recommend corrective actions
- Interface with internal and external project teams on cost control monitoring, analysis, and reporting
- Identify cost management gaps and opportunities, recommend improvements to cost engineering data standards, and track monthly spend for earned value and forecast predictability
- Perform forensic analysis on project spend and forecasts to ensure budget adherence
- Lead or assist with the Issue and Risk Register and Cost Quantitative Risk Analyses (QRAs)
- Use COGNOS, Power BI, Maximo, and Power Plan to perform analyses, interpret outputs, and prepare data-driven presentations
- Prepare documentation and technical writing for ROD requirements, prudency reviews, deposition hearings, PSC filings, Change Order processes, and other legal requirements
- Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and field observations
Requirements
What you’ll need- B.S. in Project Management, Construction Management, an Engineering Discipline, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent work experience
- Direct cost analysis experience with utility projects or large ($300M+) projects
- Understanding of commercial agreements and contracting strategies
- Understanding of project schedule impacts on cost forecasting and schedule-cost integration
- Proficient and expert-level experience with Cognos, Power BI, Maximo, Power Plan, and Microsoft Office
