About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documents, manuals, policies, and procedures supporting RMF implementation and compliance.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, engineering, and compliance teams to gather information and translate technical concepts into user-friendly documentation.
- Ensure all documentation meets federal and organizational standards for RMF, including NIST guidelines.
- Review and update documents throughout the RMF lifecycle, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior writers and team members regarding RMF documentation standards.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Technology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 10-15 years of professional technical writing experience, with significant exposure to Risk Management Framework environments.
- Strong familiarity with federal compliance standards and cybersecurity documentation.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and clarity.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with NIST publications and federal RMF processes.
- Proficiency in document management systems and technical editing tools.
- Ability to interpret and document complex cybersecurity controls and requirements.
