About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support timeline management and assist in meeting target deliverables on schedule and to a high standard.
- Oversee and implement the Gladys K. Washington Connecting Leaders Fellowship Program (CLFP), including managing: executive coach liaison; application announcement process; applicant review process and committee (when available); cohort Summit; vendor relationships; surveys, and information collection (e.g., surveys).
- Partner with the Conference and Convening Manager to ensure the successful planning and execution of the annual conference by providing programmatic leadership, aligning content and logistics, monitoring budgets and timelines, and supporting cross-functional collaboration.
- Manage Call for Session process for the annual conference and support content curation of other programs (researching speakers/VIP presenters; create and launch online session request form; coordinate session submissions; and coordinate speaker notifications and schedule prep calls).
- Serve as staff and speaker/presenter liaison for programs/events (conference; CLFP; webinars; etc.), including coordinating invite lists and specifications, and pre- and post-event preparation coordination.
- Support the coordination and implementation of programs and initiatives led by the Programs Department, including webinars, virtual and in-person events, learning opportunities, and other special projects.
- Prepare and submit quarterly program reports highlighting key activities, outcomes, participant engagement, and impact, while sharing relevant insights and updates with internal departments to support organizational alignment.
- Serve as staff liaison for CHANGE Philanthropy network, including UNITY Summit planning task force as needed.
- Maintain key external and internal relationships, including foundation and nonprofit professionals, ABFE members, mission-aligned sector partners, and subject matter experts, as well as collaboration with other ABFE programmatic efforts, membership, administration, and other ABFE departments.
- Support the establishment & execution of evaluation vehicles for ongoing program assessment.
- Coordinate with the marketing and communications team to develop and distribute program-related activities, web announcements, email blasts, blog posts, special event promotion, etc. for programming.
- Monitor website program content and disseminate/monitor as needed.
- Alert appropriate staff of any changes, as needed.
- Facilitate program meetings by developing agendas, documenting key decisions and action items, and coordinating follow-up to ensure timely execution.
- Coordinate program-related financial activities by reviewing and submitting invoices and expense documentation, monitoring program budgets, and partnering with the Finance Department to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Four to six (4–6) years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit program management, program administration, or project coordination.
- Experience working in philanthropy, racial equity, social justice, or a mission-driven nonprofit organization is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to ABFE's mission and an understanding of racial equity principles and practices.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent planning, problem-solving, and follow-through abilities.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong facilitation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to collaborative teams.
- High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience managing consultants, vendors, and external partners.
- Ability to analyze information and prepare concise reports.
- Proficiency with: Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), Salesforce or comparable CRM systems, Asana or other project management software, Zoom and other virtual meeting platforms, email marketing platforms, database management systems, social media and digital communication tools.
