About the role
- Support the company's financial reporting and reserve analysis processes; perform reserve calculations and support preparation of statutory and GAAP financial statements.
- Assist with month-end valuation processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with actuarial standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance valuation models to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Analyze emerging experience data to assess assumptions and trends impacting reserves and profitability.
- Partner with finance and other business units to provide actuarial insight into financial results.
- Support audit requests and regulatory examinations related to reserves and financial reporting.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and processes in compliance with Actuarial Standards of Practice.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing within the Valuation Team and work closely with actuarial leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- 2+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in valuation, financial reporting, or reserving.
- Completion of at least 3 actuarial exams.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Knowledge of programming languages (SQL, Python, VBA) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work under deadlines.
