About the role

  • Maintain, control, analyze, reconcile and research company financial activities affecting general ledger accounts.
  • Coordinate input into the company general ledger system and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Develop financial models using OneStream to produce financial statements and analysis.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers per SAP and GAAP; prepare monthly analyses and reports.
  • Process and analyze internal and external reinsurance transactions.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, deposits and disbursement accounts to bank statements.
  • Balance and audit accounting transactions for multi-company/multi-state operations.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation for audits.
  • Participate in modification of data systems and develop job documentation and procedures.
  • Interact with other departments to define procedures and develop process efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant, equivalent experience required.
  • Two to four years’ experience in an accounting department.
  • Basic data processing
  • Balancing of ledgers to support system
  • Account analysis and reconciliation
  • Preparing bank reconciliations
  • Knowledge of GAAP and/or SAP
  • Experience with automated accounting systems
  • Proficient with spreadsheet software
  • Ability to research and analyze data
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively on project teams
  • Willingness to work overtime or weekends to meet deadlines
