About the role
- Provide project and/or implementation management for projects related to implementing regulatory and statutory program changes
- Provide policy and domain expertise support for the project team and client
- Help prioritize and assist with overall design, development and implementation strategy for products and services
- Provide domain expertise in HHS, CMS, and/or CMCS and related systems
- Communicate program insights and requirements to stakeholders and the project team
- Analyze executive actions, legislation, statute, and other policy documents and explain impacts on program operations
- Understand how policy shapes the direction of healthcare organizations
- Bring knowledge of federal healthcare operations to guide product strategy and inform research plans
- Participate in user research and analyze findings from a domain expertise perspective
- Contribute to usability testing and give feedback on wireframes, mockups, etc.
- Build relationships with policy owners in HHS, CMS, and/or CMCS or other key stakeholders
- Provide thought leadership and consultation to help customers achieve their vision and goals
- Write, edit, and prioritize policy-related content according to audience needs
- Develop briefing papers for government customers
- Set the vision for the project, including establishing short- and long-term goals and objectives
- Create work plans and break down tasks and help develop a communications strategy supporting project goals
- Act as a point of contact for customer for domain insight
Requirements
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, law, or a related field
- Must already have legal authorization to work within the US
- Has worked for or in government agencies for a considerable time; and/or has substantial knowledge and insight of domain relevant to the job
- Collaboration with government agency stakeholders
- Working knowledge of statutes, regulations, policies, and operations pertaining to the Medicaid program
- Critical thinking about how policy and government operations are applied to desired outcomes
- Strong communication skills (verbal, presentation, and written)
- Familiarity with HHS, CMS, and/or CMCS
- Experience with Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES)
- Experience with government health and human services programs
- Our contracts require employees to work from the United States
- A1M employees must have been residents in the United States for 3 of the past 5 years
- Cannot reside in New York state due to tax reasons
- Must not require ongoing visa sponsorship
- Flexibility in hours to align with EST and occasional travel
- Active participation in client virtual meetings—including being on camera
- New hires will need to complete a Public Trust form (SF85 or SF85P) and fingerprints.
