About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Prepare focused interventions to support students’ academic success
- Instruct students in multiple subjects using varied teaching methods, audiovisual aids, and other materials
- Prepare course-of-study outlines following curriculum and state or school requirements
- Collaborate with teachers on interventions to motivate students and prevent dropouts
- Assist students in selecting courses and counsel them on adjustment and academic problems
- Collaborate with parents, students, and teachers to improve attendance
- Participate in community functions, faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, truancy court, and teacher training workshops
- Meet with students and parents regarding student progress and problems
- Administer tests, evaluate student progress, assess work products, and record results
- Maintain attendance records, student files, and transcripts
- Assist with state-mandated student testing
- Maintain files for random, bi-monthly, and year-end audits
- Help maintain a clean, inviting, professional student center
- Perform assigned administrative duties
- Maintain a partial or full summer/winter student load during short-term enrollment periods
Requirements
What you’ll need- Ability to teach and delegate responsibility to students
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, multitask environment
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills
- Ability to collaborate with field and corporate staff to implement the educational program
- Ability to work under pressure and demonstrate problem-solving skills while maintaining courtesy, professionalism, and a customer-service attitude
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills
- Effective verbal and written communication with students, parents, coworkers, and business contacts
- Working knowledge of Google Suite and database management
- BA/BS degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Some teaching or tutoring experience preferred
- Availability when needed, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Thursday
