About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with the Product Manager, deliver the highest priority features on the product roadmap that are aligned to the product vision and organizational priorities
  • Assist in development of sprint and deployment plans aligned to our product’s go-to-market strategy, defining feature set releases that deliver value to our customers
  • Collaborate with Product Manager(s) to gather and monitor data on product usage and user behaviors to inform prioritization of features
  • Work with the team to identify and execute upon opportunities for continuous improvement of team dynamics, enjoyment, and performance in an environment of collaboration and innovation
  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: This skill is crucial for the early stages of a product, where you work to understand market needs and define the product vision, which directly influences the strategic roadmap.
  • Career and Skill Growth: While this is a personal attribute, a commitment to continuous learning is a strategic mindset that enables a product owner to stay ahead of market trends and technological advancements, informing long-term product strategy.
  • Agile/Scrum: Understanding and applying Agile principles is foundational to sprint and deployment planning, which is a core part of product strategy.
  • Document requirements and acceptance criteria for features, epics, and stories. The product team should contribute to the writing, but the PO owns accepting the story
  • Own the backlog, maintain consistent prioritization of work, and facilitate backlog refinement with the on-site development team(s).
  • Facilitation (Scrum Master experience a plus): This skill is directly tied to the day-to-day operations of the development team, including running sprint ceremonies like planning, daily scrums, and retrospectives, all of which fall under delivery.
  • Project Management: The core of delivery and execution is managing the project itself, ensuring tasks are completed, deadlines are met, and the team is on track to deliver the product.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: The role explicitly mentions working with geographically dispersed teams and stakeholders, which is a key part of day-to-day execution.
  • Working with Technical Team Members: This is a primary responsibility of a Product Owner, as they must work directly with engineers to ensure user stories are understood and built correctly.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Business Analyst, Product Analyst or Scrum Product Owner.
  • 3+ years of experience working with technical teams, SME’s and stakeholders
  • Minimum of 3 years Consulting experience.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize large amounts of detailed information.
  • Proven experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, respectfully in English with other team members, project management and executive level clients.
  • Ability to complete complex tasks on short deadlines and in a fast-past environment
  • Proficient in various requirement analysis, modeling, and documentation techniques (e.g., business process modeling, use cases/user stories, data flow diagrams, data interrogation, data mapping, etc.)
  • Proven experience with various project delivery methodologies.
  • Prior knowledge building and executing test plans and cases for the transformation and movement of complex data between sources and destinations.
  • Proficient with data analysis tools.
