About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide continuous Basis administration for S/4HANA on SAP Cloud ERP Private
- Triage application Basis incidents outside the hosting provider's baseline product services
- Perform root-cause analysis and propose resolutions, engaging SAP Product Support or cloud operations for platform-side faults
- Maintain the transport and deployment landscape and execute transport requests
- Maintain technical integration with adjacent SAP cloud applications, including SAP BTP
- Fulfil preapproved standard changes and client-approved non-preapproved configuration changes
- Analyze SAP Security Notes on the monthly SAP Patch Tuesday cadence and deliver applicability assessments within 24–48 hours of release
- Implement approved security notes according to an agreed SOP
- Operate proactive monitoring through SAP Focused Run, including health, job, integration, exception, ABAP security, work-process response-time, and data-growth monitoring
- Remediate in-scope alerts and perform proactive housekeeping of technical application data and logs
- Operate and validate SAP HANA System Replication between primary and secondary production systems
- Execute monthly OS and quarterly database patching through blue/green takeover
- Validate cluster and replication health before and after each takeover
- Maintain the patching cookbook and operational runbooks to an executable standard
- Support other CAS engagements and participate in the practice on-call rotation
Requirements
What you’ll need- 6+ years hands-on SAP Basis administration with recent production ownership
- S/4HANA Basis administration in a live production landscape
- SAP HANA administration, including configuring, validating, or operating HANA System Replication and performing takeovers
- Transport management and multi-system landscape administration
- Analyzing and applying SAP Security Notes, including assessing applicability
- Linux OS patching for SAP workloads
- Ticket-driven support using ServiceNow or equivalent, with evidence of meeting defined reaction-time SLAs
- Prior participation in a 24/7 production on-call rotation
- Ability to write an RCA that a non-Basis reader can act on
- Preferred: SAP Cloud ERP Private / RISE with SAP and familiarity with the provider-managed versus customer-managed boundary
- Preferred: sovereign or government cloud delivery and prior US federal or regulated-industry client experience
- Preferred: Linux HA clustering (Pacemaker/corosync) in an SAP context and SAP BTP integration
- Preferred: SAP certification in S/4HANA System Administration or HANA Administration
