About the role
- Conducting detailed sessions with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and data extract requirements
- Document current state reporting logic, data sources, extract schedules, and dependencies within the mainframe IMS environment
- Analyze gaps between current state mainframe processes and future state cloud or data lake architecture
- Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams
- Validate requirements with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives
Requirements
- 6+ years as Systems Analyst / Business Analyst in enterprise IT
- Experience in legacy mainframe (IMS, COBOL, JCL)
- Experience migrating or modernizing legacy systems to cloud/data lake
- Strong background in reporting, data extracts, and downstream integrations
- Experience with Azure/AWS/Databricks/Snowflake
- Experience facilitating JAD sessions & stakeholder workshops
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent documentation skills
