About the role
- The Software QA Engineer performs advanced and/or supervisory computer systems analysis and team lead work, administering the daily operations and activities of testing teams within the Quality Assurance (QA) section of IT-SEDS (Information Technology – Statewide Education Data System).
- Work involves planning, budgeting, and analyzing user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems.
- Analyze user requirements, design documents and other documentation to develop detailed test cases
- Create and execute automated functional and regression test cases against HTML, PDF, and Excel Reports, report and document all issues, test cases ran, test results, and testing summaries in detail
- Perform SQL queries to analyze and manipulate data
- Work with development team and customers to clearly understand functionality under test and implement test case automation
- Execute performance and accessibility testing
- Perform manual testing and data validation
- Support implementation of apps/projects in the Texas Education Agency
Requirements
- Required: complex Web Applications Testing
- Required: all phases of Software Development Life Cycle
- Required: Advanced Database/SQL Language
- Required: API, JSON, XML
- Required: Experience with WAPT Pro, Jmeter, or other performance testing tools
- Preferred: Experience testing reports
- Preferred: Experience in API testing (SOAP and REST)
- Preferred: Previous experience with Zephyr Scale
- Preferred: Previous experience with JIRA
