About the role
- Professional and organizational leadership of the four-person payroll team
- Ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing
- Point of contact for employees, managers and external parties (e.g., health insurance providers, tax office, social security agencies)
- Further development and optimization of internal payroll processes
- Quality assurance and support with complex payroll tax and social security issues
- Training and onboarding of new team members and continuous professional development of the team
- Close collaboration with other departments and staff units
- Monitoring deadlines, e.g., residence permits
- Preparation of reports and statistics for executive management and controlling
- Support for digitalization projects in payroll (e.g., introduction of new tools or process automation)
Requirements
- Successfully completed commercial vocational training, ideally with additional qualifications in payroll accounting or human resources
- Several years of professional experience in payroll accounting
- Initial leadership experience or strong coordination skills
- Solid knowledge of payroll tax and social security law
- Confident use of payroll software, ideally DATEV Lohn und Gehalt
- Structured, responsible and team-oriented working style
- Strong communication skills and enjoyment of working with people
