About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide the runtime environment underpinning the next-generation cloud-native banking platform
Abstract feature teams from underlying infrastructure
Support the platform across networking, security, data, infrastructure, tooling, CI/CD, and feature-team services
Work with multiple AWS accounts and domains
Help maintain tier-1-grade resilience and 99.99% customer availability
Use and maintain Kubernetes on AWS orchestrated with Terraform
Develop and maintain operational tooling using Go and Python
Work with networking including ingress/egress, DMZ, cluster, cross-account, cross-region, cross-VPC, load balancer, and B2B integrations
Work with security systems including OAuth, mTLS, IAM, service mesh, egress filtering, and HashiCorp Vault
Work with Aurora PostgreSQL, Kafka, caching, Jenkins, and Concourse CI
Collaborate in the Sydney platform engineering team and with feature teams

Requirements

What you’ll need

A strong grasp of software engineering fundamentals, knowing why you write code a certain way, rather than deep expertise in any single language
A passion for quality and testing best practices
Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes supporting scalable production systems
A good baseline understanding of the current state of AI in software development, and how to use it
Experience with multi-region use cases is desirable
Experience running fully managed Kubernetes clusters in the cloud is desirable
