Underwriter

• Analyze P&C Insurance policies for completion and to identify gaps in coverage
• Analyze loss runs/claims history and propose appropriate terms & conditions as necessary
• Complete commercial policy intake forms
• Conduct underwriting calls with clients to discuss uninsured, or underinsured risks, and obtain appropriate data for actuarial pricing
• Review policy renewal information, develop and underwrite a renewal position, and provide a quote summary with supporting documentation to be approved for sign-off
• Submit case files for risk analysis reporting, and actuarial pricing
• Review large amounts of information and raw data for accuracy
• Send underwriting documents to clients to support suggested eligible coverages for current policy year
• Explain definitions of Oxford’s various lines of coverages
• Review and coordinate with the Claims Department for underwriting sign-off

Underwriting Specialist

• Lead the go-to-market distribution strategy and commercial underwriting for Energy.
• Support the Energy team in managing a portfolio of new business submissions and/or renewal submissions specifically for the Energy portfolio.
• Analyze and provide policy structure and premium rates for submissions.
• Help develop customer relationships, cultivate and manage commercial Energy team, direct sales force and/or broker relationships.

• Responsible for underwriting new and renewal business within an assigned block
• Use rating manual, experience module and clinical expertise to create pricing that drives P/L, renewal metrics and new business sales for assigned block
• Collaborate with Sales, Underwriting and Clinical to develop and implement pricing actions that will help HMIG meet financial targets
• Train, coach and provide experiences to lower level staff with the purpose of expanding consultative best practices throughout the department
• Utilize client and market knowledge to expand/enhanced Underwriting Guidelines, processes and tools by incorporating best practices
• Monitor overall block performance and report on emerging financial trends
• Develop strategies and tactics to move case level and block results to meet targets
• Act as subject matter expert to support Sales' negotiations to renew existing clients and enroll new business

• Lead the design and delivery of large-scale, production-ready underwriting platforms , including AI and LLM-powered capabilities
• Architect highly available, secure, and scalable services that support enterprise-level workloads
• Drive end-to-end ownership of systems—from concept and architecture through production and long-term evolution
• Provide technical leadership across multiple teams , influencing architecture, design patterns, and engineering standards
