Technical Writer

• Will be responsible for ensuring that RA technical documentation is created and updated in accordance with the most current industry and DoD documentation and applicable program standards
• Responsible for leading the creation, updating, and delivery of RA ART documentation, including Algorithm Design Documentation (ADD), Functional Area Design Documentation (FADDs), applicable Appendices to other program documentation, Program Plans, Procedures, and Processes that fall under the RA ART's responsibility
• Will be responsible for tracking documentation due dates, developing plans to complete documentation, collating inputs from RA product teams to prepare draft and final versions, coordinating across RA product teams to track progress, identifying risks and dependencies, and providing updates to RA leadership as requested
• Collaborating with RA Engineers, Leadership, and other stakeholders to gather feedback on draft documents for incorporation into final versions
• Seek out detailed software design and architecture information from existing documentation and development projects as source material for documentation being created or modified
• Updating information repositories such as Confluence, Jira, and SharePoint
• Track and meet scheduled deadlines for documentation deliverables

Principal Technical Writer

• Leading the development of high-quality technical documentation for complex software systems and space ground architectures
• Creating and maintaining system documentation, user guides, API documentation, and operational procedures
• Translating technical requirements, architecture, and workflows into clear, concise written materials
• Establishing and enforcing documentation standards, processes, and style guidelines across programs
• Ensuring documentation aligns with government requirements, compliance frameworks, and contract deliverables

• Collaborates closely with editorial, software development, customer support, product management, and services to develop high-quality user-friendly content.
• Develops, maintains, and edits content for multi-publishing outputs according to department and company quality and development guidelines.
• Participates in the software design stages to help identify and resolve gaps between requirements, technical design, and to improve understanding of the workflow to help the end-user.
• Balances multiple projects, including projects beyond normal scope, and works as an integral part of the Scaled Agile team.
• Ensures content and delivery mechanism meets end-user needs.
• Provides regular updates on project status.
• Mentors new writers with less experience in aspects of the job.
• Influences product team by educating on our processes and standard methodologies.
• Contributes to shared knowledge and industry best-practices across a larger team.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to determine content needs, and schedules.
• Works to plan to meet all scheduled deliverables.

Senior Technical Writer

• Development of high-quality docs - including video content, how-to articles, and case studies to make using our software products easier and to reduce support load.
• Documentation SEO Optimization
• Rewrite existing docs pages to align with high-intent search queries
• Improve titles, headings, and on-page keyword targeting
• Add contextual introductions and use cases to technical pages
• Work with colleagues to generate content (you are not alone)
• Ensure our content remains high quality, detailed, useful, and of value to developers
• Create 5–10 long-form “pillar” technical guides (2,000–4,000 words)
• Build structured internal linking across docs and marketing pages (working with marketing team)
• Add/create: Architecture diagrams (can be simple) API examples
• Implement FAQ, HowTo, and TechArticle schema
• Continuously expand docs with new SEO-driven pages
• Produce a monthly report on progress and rankings vs competition
