• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and trust tax returns (SARS)
• Provide tax planning advice to minimise client liability within legal frameworks
• Manage VAT, PAYE, and provisional tax submissions and reconciliations
• Handle SARS correspondence, queries, and dispute resolution
• Keep up to date with changes in South African tax legislation and communicate impacts to clients
• Conduct tax risk assessments and due diligence for business transactions
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for all tax engagements

• Drafting, coordinating, and finalising Annual Financial Statements and tax related tasks for various clients
• Reviewing financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS for SMEs
• Supporting month-end close processes when needed
• Assisting with process improvements and special projects
• Supporting accounting teams with AFS-related queries
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of year-end reporting quality

AFS and Tax Coordinator

• Prepare federal and state filings across all major entity types
• Solve missing pieces before they become problems
• Ensure that returns are review-ready on the first pass
• Communicate directly with clients to request documents and clarify details
• Manage multiple client files without losing context
• Track outstanding items and chase them down before they hold up the file
• Partner with U.S.-based colleagues on document context and tax treatment decisions
• Hand off to the Tax Reviewer with a clean file and a clear summary of decisions made
• Use Drake tax software and proprietary internal platform

US Tax Preparer

• Be the final checkpoint in the tax workflow — the reviewer of record.
• Review completed returns across 1040, 1120, 1120-S, and 1065; ensure accuracy prior to filing.
• Spot calculation errors, missed elections, and documentation gaps; coordinate with preparers to resolve.
• Communicate directly with clients to clarify questions about the return itself with clear answers.
• Work in Drake and a proprietary internal platform with training provided.
• Maintain audit-ready workpapers and documentation trails.
