• Own corporate income tax compliance and reporting for Cohesity's EMEA entities (including Ireland as the regional hub), coordinating with external advisors and local finance teams.
• Oversee VAT/GST, withholding tax, and other indirect tax filings across EMEA jurisdictions and advise the business on the commercial impact of such taxes.
• Support quarterly and annual income tax provision processes (ASC 740) for EMEA entities in partnership with the US-based tax provision team.
• Advise on cross-border transactions, intercompany arrangements, and transfer pricing matters affecting EMEA entities.
• Partner with Legal and Corporate Development on entity structuring, M&A, and IP/licensing arrangements involving EMEA jurisdictions.
• Monitor evolving EU tax legislation (e.g., Pillar Two, e-invoicing, etc.) and assess business impact.
• Lead responses to tax authority inquiries, audits, and enforcement notices across the region.
• Identify and remediate tax risk exposures, maintaining a regional risk register in coordination with the VP of Tax.
• Serve as the primary tax point of contact for EMEA finance, sales, and legal stakeholders.
• Build and/or manage a small regional tax team and/or outsourced advisor relationships.
• Provide clear, business-friendly guidance to non-tax stakeholders on the tax implications of commercial deals and operating changes.

Tax Director – EMEA

• Support the complete indirect tax compliance lifecycle across international eCommerce operations, including 19 indirect tax registrations, OSS reporting obligations, and coordination of external compliance providers across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support onboarding of new clients, brands, and marketplace channels by advising on indirect tax setup, registration requirements, and operational implications.
• Assist with indirect tax requirements relating to US sales tax and Canadian GST/HST obligations, working closely with external advisors and service providers where required.
• Monitor VAT/GST and sales tax registration thresholds, OSS obligations, and marketplace tax requirements relating to cross-border online sales activity globally.
• Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Commercial, and Technology teams to support scalable and commercially practical indirect tax processes.
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and compliance providers to ensure timely and effective support across all territories.
• Ensure accurate VAT/GST/sales tax determination and rate configuration across eCommerce and order management systems supporting international sales activity.
• Support tax governance, process documentation, and controls to ensure ongoing compliance and audit readiness.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting across the indirect tax function.
• Monitor international legislative and digital reporting developments that may impact the business and provide practical guidance to stakeholders.
• Support audits, reconciliations, due diligence, and regulatory reviews relating to indirect tax matters.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support international business growth and operational scalability.

Indirect Tax Manager

• Ensure the delivery of accurate and timely compliance with all tax filing, reporting, and payment obligations across relevant jurisdictions.
• Support the Company’s annual tax provisioning and quarterly tax reporting processes through the preparation of tax computations, provisions, returns, and supporting documentation, including the preparation and posting of tax provision journals to the general ledger and reconciliation of tax balances to ensure accurate financial statement reporting.
• Assist in the management of corporate tax risk through the monitoring of tax authority matters, timely identification of issues, and coordination of responses across relevant jurisdictions.
• Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, assess their potential impact on the Company, and facilitate the implementation of any required changes.
• Participate in the tax review of leasing and transaction-related activities, including assessing international tax implications, coordinating with external advisers, and assisting in the management of tax risks and exposures.
• Identify and implement opportunities to enhance tax processes, controls, and operational efficiency across the tax function.
• Act as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors, ensuring the timely provision of information, documentation, analysis, and responses to audit queries to support audit requirements.
• Provide support to the broader Finance team on tax and finance related matters as required.

Tax Specialist

• Own OpenAI’s global indirect tax compliance operating model and end-to-end compliance lifecycle across VAT, GST, DST, and related regimes, ensuring timely, accurate, and controlled compliance across an expanding portfolio of jurisdictions
• Lead registration lifecycle management, including threshold monitoring, obligation assessments, new registrations, amendments, and deregistrations, with clear governance over OpenAI’s global registration footprint
• Oversee ongoing compliance activities, including data collection and validation, return preparation and review, tax payments, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and documented approvals, with clear accountability across internal teams and external providers
• Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes and technology, building the business case for initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and support future growth
• Assess compliance readiness by proactively identifying gaps in processes, controls, data, systems, and resourcing, and driving remediation efforts to support scalable growth and new market launches
• Select, onboard, and oversee external compliance providers and advisors, establishing clear expectations, monitoring service quality and performance, and escalating risks and issues early
• Serve as the primary point of contact for indirect tax audits, examinations, and tax authority inquiries, coordinating cross-functional responses and driving matters through resolution
• Strengthen the global control environment by designing and enhancing review procedures, governance frameworks, reconciliations, and monitoring activities that support continuous audit readiness
• Partner with Finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to communicate emerging compliance risks, regulatory developments, and recommendations, translating complex tax requirements into practical business actions
