Research Analyst

• Lead monitoring activities for complex, high-risk, or strategically important clinical trials using a risk-based monitoring approach
• Independently conduct on-site and remote monitoring visits in line with approved monitoring plans
• Perform and oversee SDR, SDV, and CRF review, ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy and integrity
• Evaluate investigational product accountability through physical inventory and records review
• Ensure essential documents are complete, inspection-ready, and compliant with ICH-GCP and applicable German/EU regulations
• Lead site initiation, maintenance, and close-out activities, providing expert guidance and recommendations

Principal Clinical Research Associate - Full-Time or Part-Time Available

• Monitors clinical trials and observational studies ensuring protocol adherence, managing site activities, and overseeing data collection and integrity.
• Ensures sites are conducting the study(ies) and reporting study data as required by applicable regulations and guidelines, and sponsor requirements.
• Performs remote and on-site monitoring in accordance with project specific timelines.
• Completes travel scheduling in accordance with project specific and UBC travel policy.
• Submits expense reports within UBC requirements.
• Completes site monitoring reports and letters per UBC and/or sponsor SOPs requiring minimal corrections.
• Ensures follow-up of site issues and action items per UBC/sponsor timelines.
• Enters site visits, site monitoring reports, follow-up letter sent date and site contacts into Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS).
• Monitors within Electronic Data Capture (EDC) data entry, if applicable, and assists sites with electronic Case Report Form (eCRF) resolution.
• Reviews Investigator Site File and performs Investigational Product reconciliation.
• Maintains regular contact with assigned sites per study requirements.
• Completes all SOP review, training assessments and documentation within requested timelines.

Senior Clinical Research Associate

• Strategic coordination and management of the EKC-GCH on the German side and in close collaboration with partner institutions in Malawi
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring the implementation of project objectives, milestones and quality standards
• Providing scientific support and quality assurance for international research and development projects
• Ensuring compliance with scientific, ethical and regulatory standards
• Coordinating collaboration with national and international partner institutions, as well as maintaining and expanding strategic networks
• Acting as the point of contact for funding bodies and contributing to project and grant management
• Developing and securing third-party funding, as well as providing support in the design of new funding applications

Research Associate – Global Child Health

• Run investigations where specific concerns are raised regarding images, data, data analysis, and the derived results and conclusions, and validate concerns using a range of tools and techniques
• Use scientific comprehension to provide analysis and advice for in-house editorial teams to determine whether manuscripts still under consideration are suitable for publication, and post-publication to recommend a course of action such as correction, expression of concern or retraction through decision quality
• Communicate effectively to understand and express complex ethics concepts, and clearly and concisely explain cases, both in writing and via video call, to internal and external stakeholders, such as Publishing Editors, Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Directors, Society stakeholders and Authors
• Serve as an escalation point for Research Integrity Advisers within the Resolutions team for complicated cases requiring expertise regarding image or data integrity
• Process multiple “Large cases” (involving multiple, related articles) concurrently, working as a project lead and collaborating with the Support team and Associate Research Integrity Advisers
• Use your knowledge of the case to streamline processes to drive them to resolution following Standard Operating Procedures
• Comply with relevant Springer Nature policies, COPE guidelines and industry best practices
• Identify legal and reputational risk and liaise with internal legal and communications teams to mitigate these risks
• Manage a high-volume workload of concurrent cases to meet targets and Key Performance Indicators

• Lead on clinical trial monitoring tasks requiring technical depth, with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
