Patient Care

• Perform clinical and office duties under the direct supervision of a Physician/Provider/Nurse
• Check schedules, organize patient flow, accompany patients, assist with transfers and dressing, collect specimens, prepare patients for exams, obtain histories, perform screenings, assist with procedures, chart, and answer calls
• Send and receive patient records and documents
• Schedule surgical procedures and tests
• Obtain pre-certification for healthcare services
• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics
• Manage and update patient charts
• Maintain examination-room cleanliness, supplies, logs, and required checks
• Clean exam/procedure rooms and maintain infection-control protocols
• Assist providers with EPM and EHR management, including queuing laboratory and radiology orders
• Respect and promote patient rights, respond to emergencies, and communicate patient or staff concerns to the supervisor
• Obtain vital signs, prepare for physical examinations, assist with procedures, and handle laboratory specimens
• Participate in daily huddles and scheduled practice-team meetings
• Perform other related duties as assigned
