Network Engineer

• Performs operational analysis and mission effectiveness analysis.
• Designs and plans complex network systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Shares technical expertise with colleagues in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluates and reports on new network technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable.
• Coordinates with the cyber security team to develop and implement security baselines and Group Policy Object (GPO) settings.
• Acts on vulnerability reports to perform timely remediation, applying security patches, configuration adjustments, and other corrective measures in coordination with the cyber security team.
• Work is performed without appreciable direction and exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment.
• Guides the successful completion of major projects where erroneous decisions typically result in failure to achieve major organizational objectives.
• Acts as the organization’s prime technical contact for projects with significant technical matters that need to be communicated to senior external personnel.

• Architect, Deploy, configure, and maintain F5 BIG-IP appliances (Local Traffic Manager/LTM, Global Traffic Manager/DNS)
• Extensive experience with F5 Viprions, Velos and AVI
• Architect Global Server Load Balancing (GSLB) and Local Server Load Balancing (LSLB), manage SSL/TLS offloading, and configure Web Application Firewalls (WAF/ASM)
• Develop F5 iRules for traffic customization and use APIs or Ansible for automation
• Deep understanding of LTM configurations, and health monitoring
• Proactively monitor system health, performance, and security, resolving issues to ensure high availability
• Work with network and security teams to integrate F5 solutions into cloud or on-premise infrastructure
• Collaborate with internal teams including Information Technology (IT) security, Tech Fellow and stakeholders to align network architecture with business requirements
• Strong understanding of Layer 4-7 traffic management, HTTP and SSL/TLS encryptions

• Design and implement scalable, high-performance Wide Area Network (WAN), Local Area Network (LAN) and wireless solutions on both Cisco and Arista platforms
• Architect network systems for large complex organization infrastructures with focus on reliability and security
• Plan, design, and deploy Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) networks and designing systems that incorporate advanced Quality of Service (QOS) strategies and traffic shaping mechanisms
• Implement and manage routing and switching technologies (e.g., Open Shortest Path First (OSPF), Boundary Gateway Protocol (BGP), MPLS, etc.)
• Perform troubleshooting and optimization of WAN routing configurations across multiple locations
• Apply relevant encryption standards for securing data traffic across wide area networks
• Work with internal teams to ensure that the network is compliant with industry standards and regulations, including implementing Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption protocols
• Collaborate with internal teams including Information Technology (IT) security, Tech Fellow and stakeholders to align network architecture with business requirements
• Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including network topology diagrams, configuration guides and capacity planning documents

• Provide expert troubleshooting of network-related issues for LAN, WAN, wireless, and demilitarized zone (DMZ) networks

• Architect, deploy, and troubleshoot complex routing and security configurations including BGP, OSPF, VRRP, QoS, and IPS/IDS policies
• Lead customer onboarding into Palo Alto Prisma SD-WAN environments, managing integration and migration from start to finish
• Support and troubleshoot multi-vendor environments across WAN, LAN, firewalls, VPNs, LTE circuits, VoIP, and Metaswitch UCaaS/voice services
• Design and refine LTE failover strategies, redundancy configurations, and hybrid WAN setups
• Serve as a direct point of escalation with Palo Alto Networks and other vendors on complex technical issues
• Proactively monitor customer environments, review logs, and identify and address threats or performance degradation before they become incidents
• Share expertise with peers on Palo Alto best practices, including SD-WAN policy design and security posture alignment
• Maintain thorough documentation of network architectures, security policies, and operational playbooks
