Network Engineer

• Represent network infrastructure design and deployment requirements across global data center environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, construction, and operations) to define and integrate space, power, cooling, and connectivity requirements into data center designs and standards
• Support the development and evolution of network infrastructure standards, technical references, and design processes
• Conduct construction administration and site visits; partner with architects, engineers, contractors, and construction teams to validate network builds against standards
• Provide guidance and education to design, construction, and operations teams to ensure alignment with design intent and minimize site-level deviations
• Support commissioning, provisioning, and operational readiness of network infrastructure across global sites
• Drive strategic initiatives focused on efficiency, scalability, innovation, and standardization of network infrastructure
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, cross-functional partners, and external vendors
• Support automation, tooling & AI initiatives to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency across infrastructure design and deployment

• Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of LAN infrastructure
• Perform basic troubleshooting of network issues
• Assist in implementing network changes
• Monitor network performance and escalate complex issues
• Document configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps

Network Engineer I – Network Services

• Own enterprise network infrastructure and Fortinet security platforms end to end, serving as the authoritative technical lead for network architecture, configuration standards, and operational governance.
• Change network design and security controls with managerial approval, including re architecting systems as necessary to remediate risk, improve resilience, and align with industry and regulatory standards.
• Be accountable for network availability, security posture, and risk reduction, proactively identifying systemic weaknesses and resolving complex connectivity and performance issues that materially impact the organization.
• Lead all network related remediation efforts in support of ISO compliance, translating audit and monitoring findings into concrete technical controls, configuration changes, and documented evidence.
• Serve as the senior technical interface with network and security vendors, independently evaluating vendor guidance, challenging inaccurate or incomplete recommendations, and driving issues to effective resolution.
• Define and implement monitoring, alerting, patching, and automation strategies, establishing a mature, supportable network environment with reduced reliance on manual intervention and reactive troubleshooting.
• Establish and maintain authoritative, environment specific documentation for network architecture and Fortinet implementations, replacing legacy materials with accurate, actionable standards and procedures.
• Drive knowledge transfer and operational readiness across the team, ensuring internal staff are equipped to support and sustain the network environment as maturity improves over time.
• Provide timely troubleshooting and resolution of network issues, prioritizing efforts according to incident severity, business impact, and outage scope.
• Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of server and distributed systems networking design, configuration, and integration.
• Provide support and guidance to help desk staff and system administrators in troubleshooting and resolving system-related issues.
• Exhibit strong communication skills with colleagues and leadership, contribute meaningfully in meetings, and consistently demonstrate professionalism and respect in all employee interactions.
• Adhere to formal change management processes.

Senior Network Engineer – Contract

• Ensures secure, reliable operation of agency-wide networks, servers, and cloud systems
• Provides advanced troubleshooting and rapid incident response to minimize downtime
• Supports compliance with statewide cybersecurity, data protection, and Continuity of Operations (COOP) requirements
• Leads infrastructure upgrades, modernization efforts, and long-term capacity planning

• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/WLAN).
• Manage and optimize routing and switching environments (SDWAN,SDA,BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP/VRRP).
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, and network security controls.
• Lead network upgrades, migrations, and major infrastructure projects.
• Support and troubleshoot network performance issues and outages (root cause analysis).
• Monitor network health using tools like SolarWinds / ThousandEyes (or similar).
• Maintain network documentation: diagrams, IP schema, standards, and runbooks.
• Work with service providers for circuit turn-ups, troubleshooting, and escalations.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in on-call rotation and support after-hours maintenance activities.
• Design and support cloud network architecture including:
• AWS VPC / Transit Gateway / Route Tables / NACLs / Security Groups
• Azure VNet / VNet Peering / UDR / NSGs / Cloud Firewall.
