Network Engineer

• Monitor network devices and connected systems to ensure computers, routers, hubs, and switches are operating efficiently and reliably
• Troubleshoot network anomalies and connectivity issues under the direction of the lead Network Administrator to restore service and minimize disruptions
• Support the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware and software to meet operational requirements
• Assist with network administration activities, user support, and system performance monitoring to help maintain a secure and stable network environment

Junior Network Administrator

• Install and configure computer networks, network devices, and supporting systems to meet operational requirements
• Administer network resources and user access in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Monitor computer networks and systems to identify performance trends, capacity issues, and opportunities for improvement
• Troubleshoot network and system issues to restore service and minimize operational disruptions
• Diagnose and resolve connectivity, hardware, software, and network infrastructure problems
• Assemble and deploy new systems, equipment, and network components to support business operations
• Maintain existing network hardware, software, and supporting infrastructure to ensure reliability and availability
• Upgrade obsolete hardware, software, and network components to improve performance and maintain compatibility
• Collaborate with IT support personnel to resolve incidents, implement changes, and support end users
• Provide network administration, technical support, and operational guidance to ensure secure and efficient network operations

Network Administrator

• The role will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the networking infrastructure across the on-premises environment and multiple cloud platforms, including AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Microsoft Azure.
• Expertise in applying best practices in these three major cloud technologies will be crucial in ensuring the secure and efficient operation of the Bureau’s cloud-based systems.
• Provide design, implementation, and support of Cisco ASR-based on-premises network (Nexus Work with the cloud team for implementation and deployment of the cloud network architecture, ensuring that the solutions are scalable, reliable, and secure.
• Planning, performing, testing, and documenting network posture to ensure proper/secure connectivity and operations within our cloud environments and external connections.
• Ensure interoperability between applications that need to securely communicate.
• Creating and maintaining necessary supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to define technical requirements, develop network architecture, and identify risks and mitigation strategies.

Cloud Network Engineer

• Design, build, and implement network systems for LAN, MAN, and WAN environments
• Monitor and diagnose network issues
• Analyze network traffic patterns and provide capacity planning solutions
• Interface with vendor support services
• Perform system-level design and configuration
• Evaluate and test new and existing network products
• Provide technical assistance and oversight across all network operations
• Contribute to policy discussions
• Conduct routine testing and analysis of network hardware
• Identify opportunities for network optimization and implement improvements
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for network configurations

Network Engineer, TS/Q Clearance required

• Support the Advanced Enterprise Global Information Technology Solutions (AEGIS) program
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot NASA's enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Wi-Fi technologies
• Utilize tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center for network management, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for access control, and Splunk for network logging and analysis
• Design robust, scalable, and secure wireless network solutions
• Conduct thorough requirements gathering for complex wireless projects
• Utilize Ekahau software to create predictive models and heatmaps for wireless network performance
• Manage and configure Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
• Respond to network incidents, troubleshoot network issues
• Manage network configuration, inventory, and performance using Cisco Catalyst Center aka DNAC
• Develop custom Splunk dashboards and alerts for network-related incidents
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of network configurations, processes, troubleshooting procedures, and incident resolutions
• Work directly or indirectly with NASA customers, Technicians, Network Engineers and/or Network Architects

Network Engineer III

• Lead network architecture implementation across LAN/WAN, data center, and cloud environments
• Provide MPLS and SD-WAN network design, support, and technology implementation
• Architect and manage data center infrastructure solutions
• Design and implement Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)
• Implement device authentication and network access control strategies using Cisco Identity Services Engine
• Architect and manage network security using: Cisco Firepower Management Center, Cisco 3105 Firewalls (Active/Passive high availability clusters)
• Design secure access for enterprise applications, including Cloud and on premise based applications: Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams
• Implementation of new network configuration on existing Zero Trust architecture leveraging Zscaler: Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), Zscaler Digital Experience (ZDX)
• Implement and mitigate security controls / finding: Block malicious IPs and URLs, Mitigate vulnerabilities across network borders
• Integrate Zscaler with Cisco edge and border devices
• Address ServiceNow incidents, implement change orders
• Architect and manage secure VPN solutions (Cisco ASA) for business partners
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and strategic recommendations
