• You will be a senior individual contributor in the Wireless Technology organization, with primary responsibility for Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth connectivity on multi‑radio products.
• Translate vehicle‑level use cases into robust, testable RF hardware and system requirements.
• Contribute to Wi‑Fi/BT RF system architectures defined by Staff/Principal engineers and help drive those architectures into concrete designs and validation plans.

Senior Hardware Engineer – Wi-Fi/BT Connectivity

• Design and optimize the optical film stack architecture for LCD modules used in automotive interior displays
• Select appropriate brightness enhancement and optical compensation films (e.g., DBEF, BEF, diffuser, prism, etc.) based on application and system requirements
• Conduct film stack simulations and ray tracing analysis to evaluate trade-offs in brightness, viewing angle, color shift, and efficiency
• Collaborate with display panel suppliers to define and validate film stack structures under automotive conditions including temperature cycling, humidity, vibration, and sunlight exposure
• Analyze optical measurement data (e.g., luminance, contrast ratio, haze, reflectance, viewing cone, color shift) and correlate with film stack properties

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across cores, memory, interconnects, peripherals, and software stacks.

• Define hardware and RF/Wireless requirements for UWB ranging/BLE that support features such as passive entry, passive start, trunk access, and backup phone access.
• Lead the concept and requirements for vehicle Digital Key system development.
• Translate vehicle level use cases and customer scenarios into clear link budgets and performance targets for UWB/BLE including accuracy, precision, latency, robustness, and reader field strength and alignment in automotive packaging.
• Provide UWB/BLE input into short range wireless and antenna roadmaps that can scale across nameplates and regions.

• The Staff Component Validation Engineer is the technical owner for ensuring assigned hardware meets all GM technical, reliability, regulatory, and program requirements through robust analysis, development, and validation.
• Serve as the GM Validation Engineer / Component Validation Engineer for assigned components, responsible to ensure the ECU design is fully validated to the Statement of Requirements (SOR) and associated technical specifications.
• Own validation content for SOR Appendices, obtaining the appropriate global templates and commodity-specific content and attaching them to the SOR package.

• Conduct in depth technical evaluations and trade off studies on SoCs and other semiconductors to identify the optimal components for a range of automotive applications.
• Design and manage application schematics centered around SoCs for ECU development, ensuring high performance, cost effective solutions that meet system requirements.
• Collaborate cross functionally with hardware engineering, software development, and suppliers to define design specifications and align on architectural and system-level requirements.
• Develop clear and robust component specifications within your scope of responsibility to enable timely sourcing decisions aligned with electronic development and vehicle program milestones.

• Work with cross functional teams to develop and execute component and vehicle integration test strategies (including HIL, bench, and in-vehicle tests), test plans, and test cases to Digital Key functionality and performance.
• Work with vehicle integration teams on vehicle integration and packaging of Digital Key components to ensure robustness of wireless performance and radiation patterns due to packaging constraints and EMC interference of other systems.
• Analyze test results, vehicle logs, and RF measurements to identify defects, characterize issues, and drive resolution with cross-functional teams.
• Report to senior leaders on project status, roadblocks, and escalation requests.

Senior Hardware Engineer – Digital Key

• Initiate EMC Component Design Reviews for new electrical ECU designs in cooperation with the EMC Technical Fellow as needed.
• Develop EMC component test plans with suppliers and approve in CEMENT database.
• Review electrical component EMC test data/results in CEMENT and work to resolve any issues through a 5-phase process.
• Bring attention to EMC issues which may impact successful on-time completing of validation.
• Provide EMC expertise to GM partners for root causing EMC issues when required for responsible components at both component and vehicle level.
• Assist EMC requirement owners to develop any new Best Practices as needed for components in area of responsibility.
• Provide technical support and expertise to suppliers as necessary to ensure they meet EMC Vehicle Level requirements.
• Work with other EMC component EMC engineers via participation in the Global EMC Test Plan Commonization Workgroup. Meetings to ensure common approach to design reviews, test plan reviews, and data/results reviews globally.
