Designer

• Create new drawings from as-builts, aerial imagery, field notes, and survey data
• Set up sheets, title blocks, notes, plans, and details for an overall drawing package
• Add annotation and dimensions to foundation location plans, sections, and details to PDF for review
• Modify drawings as directed by Design Coordinator, Engineer, or Designer

Structural Designer

• Manage, design, and perform design checks related to technical activities related to substation physical design
• Develop existing drawings for one-lines, physical arrangements, grounding, conduit, lighting, lightning protection, and rigid bus analysis
• Create physical layouts and substation designs that integrate with protection and control drawings
• Ordering long-lead item materials
• Perform QA/QC reviews on drawing packages for adherence to client standards
• Participating in trainings associated with substation physical design
• Provides leadership, coaching, onboarding, and/or mentoring to a subordinate group when required

We are seeking an experienced Structural Design Associate that performs complex drafting assignments requiring the application of standardized techniques. The design associate works independently and may direct efforts of less experienced staff. This position has diversified design experience, an ability to perform work of a greater complexity, and recommends design techniques and minor design changes to ensure the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.

Structural Design Associate – Industrial

• Incorporate customer requests, text, and photos into designs
• Create polished and professional print-ready proofs with typographic legibility and consistency
• Proofread the customer-entered text
• Ensure the photo quality of customer-supplied photos
• Recolor and edit images based on customer requests
• Review the work of fellow designers to ensure the quality of design and accuracy of edits before sending a digital proof to the customer
• Collaborate with customers through written communication to modify and finalize designs
• Assist with design-related questions from internal teams
• Resolve escalated customer orders with design-related issues
• Work directly with customers via email or screen-share as needed
• Uphold service-level standards by meeting quality, productivity, and response-time expectations

Seasonal Designer

• Design and develop high layer count PCB layouts for high-speed digital, radio frequency (RF), and high-power circuit assemblies
• Apply contemporary printed circuit board (PCB) design methodologies to ensure superior signal integrity, efficient thermal management, and effective electromagnetic interference (EMI) mitigation
• Partner closely with hardware engineers, signal integrity experts, and mechanical designers to lead the optimization of PCB layouts, ensuring adherence to best practices for performance, reliability, and efficient manufacturing processes
• Oversee the precise management of all PCB design data, utilizing Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to control documentation, revisions, and formal release procedures while guaranteeing full compliance with company quality standards and industry regulations
• Implement engineering changes to existing designs (ECO process), update documentation, and manage releases effectively
• Design expertise in Cadence Allegro, leveraging the platform for complex design tasks

PCB Designer

• Collaborate closely with VA stakeholders to deeply understand and document their experiences, and visually translate those findings onto service blueprints, ecosystem maps, journey maps, and other design artifacts.
• Implement mixed-method discovery approaches that uncover deep insights about the interactions between systems, business processes, and people.
• Lead the co-design and iteration of low and high-fidelity service design artifacts to validate assumptions, uncover pain points, and identify opportunities that resonate with VA staff.
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, data engineers and other service designers to ensure the accurate and timely application of knowledge onto downstream deliverables.
• Create and nurture relationships with stakeholders across the product ecosystem, proactively engaging impacted stakeholders to validate assumptions, socialize insights, and facilitate sensemaking.
• Engage peers within the government ecosystem to proactively and collaboratively problem solve issues that impact our ability to deliver desired outcomes.
