Communications

• Translate complex operational and clinical work into compelling, human-centered narratives that resonate with external audiences such as families, schools, funders, policymakers, and prospective employees.
• Develop messaging frameworks, talking points, and narrative guides that keep Aspire’s story consistent across departments and channels.
• Proactively identify positioning gaps and help shape external narratives before they’re defined for us.
• Manage media relations, including drafting press releases, pitching stories, and responding to inquiries.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and outlets across Aspire’s footprint, with emphasis on Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maryland.
• Support thought leadership by helping identify opportunities and preparing Aspire spokespeople for interviews, panels, and speaking engagements.
• Draft op eds, bylines, and award submissions that elevate Aspire’s reputation in human services, behavioral health, and education.
• Monitor emerging industry conversations and help insert Aspire’s perspective with clarity and confidence.
• Partner with the marketing team to amplify Aspire’s external visibility through digital and content channels.
• Draft and refine leadership messaging, all staff updates, and executive talking points aligned with Aspire’s voice and values.
• Support change communication in partnership with senior leadership and People & Culture to maintain trust and transparency during periods of transition.
• Serve as a communications resource for cross-functional initiatives that require timely, consistent messaging.
• Participate in training and assigned skill-building opportunities as delegated by management.

Communications Manager

• Own ActBlue's comprehensive internal communications strategy — defining KPIs, goals, benchmarks, and success metrics for the function, and driving accountability against them
• Lead both strategic direction and hands-on production, setting the framework for organizational communications while personally executing high-impact content including executive messages, all-staff meeting materials, and the internal newsletter
• Own production and strategic direction of ActBlue's internal newsletter, including content strategy, editorial calendar, and channel standards that engage, inform, and inspire staff while advancing organizational objectives
• Define and maintain standards for all internal communication channels (Slack, email, Confluence), including editorial calendars, style guidelines, and quality benchmarks
• Lead content development and set the strategic direction for quarterly virtual All-Staff Meetings (200+ attendees), independently translating organizational objectives into compelling programming that drives employee engagement
• Partner closely with People & Culture to support change management communications and employee experience goals, ensuring organizational changes are communicated effectively across the workforce
• Own 25% of content creation for annual in-person All-Staff Retreats, producing programming that strengthens organizational culture and connection across the distributed workforce
• Prepare and counsel Executive Leadership Team members directly for internal communications events and high-stakes situations, providing strategic guidance and proactively identifying issues before they escalate
• Serve as the top-level escalation point and subject matter expert on internal communications for all staff, managers, and leaders — and as a key thought partner for senior leaders and the executive team
• Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion in all communications, working closely with DEI leadership to ensure inclusive messaging, authentic representation of lived experiences, and accessibility considerations for remote and distributed staff across all demographics
• Receive advance, confidential briefings on contemplated organizational changes, restructurings, and workforce actions prior to union notice, including the underlying business rationale and labor strategy, in order to develop communications sequencing that protects bargaining leverage and legal notice timelines
• Define and drive communication effectiveness metrics, using data to continuously refine strategy and demonstrate the impact of the internal communications function to leadership

Principal – Internal Communications

• Responsible for the execution of external and internal communications programs and projects including public relations, digital communications, HR and business unit communications counsel, and promotion of G.E.H.A’s community investment strategy
• Establish processes, standards for execution, and set the bar for quality content that represents G.E.H.A well to both internal and external audiences
• Work collaboratively with other members of the Communications team as well as team members from other support functions like Marketing and HR
• Provide counsel to C-suite executives on a regular basis
• Provide strategic counsel to executives and business partners
• Manage communication channels (web, intranet, social media)
• Participate in relevant communications/media events and conferences as assigned
• Assist with implementation of crisis communications and issues management plans as needed

Brand Reputation – Communications Manager

• Leading the research team, composed of doctoral level clinical investigators, who conduct virtual clinical trials and collaborate with academic investigators on sponsored and collaborative research, all leading to peer-reviewed publication.
• Developing real world evidence supporting Virta’s impact on clinical and economic outcomes, in collaboration with the Virta data science team and external data resources, from data warehouses to health plans and employers.
• Partnering with Commercial Marketing, Sales, and Clinical leadership to translate Virta’s research, real-world evidence, and clinical outcomes into a compelling market narrative.
• Leading and implementing a coordinated KOL strategy in collaboration with the commercial team.
• Build a network of key investigators who are interested in collaborating with Virta researchers on trials that extend the impact of the Virta program.
• Participate as an active member of the Virta Medical Group leadership team, representing the scientific point of view and leading/collaborating on evidence-based clinical initiatives that advance the quality and efficiency of the care Virta provides to thousands of patients suffering from metabolic health adversity.
• Develop and advance a real world evidence program, leveraging source of data both within and outside of Virta.
• Work cross-functionally to inject evidence into Virta processes - from clinical care to coaching to product development.
