Patient Billing Representative

• Manages daily assignments in the hospital information system's work queue for laboratory billing ensuring appropriate registration, CPT/HCPCS code modifiers and appropriate cost centers.
• Performs laboratory billing edits, reviews billing and coding compliance, and reconciliation of billing discrepancies.
• Calculates and manually enters charges for miscellaneous tests and zero-dollar CPT codes.
• Collaborates with revenue integrity to resolve billing and coding discrepancies to comply with timely filling requirements.
• Identifies unusual billing issues or trends and communicates with the responsible party to achieve resolution.
• Works with clinical, financial, IHT, leadership and staff to ensure that coding, charging, reporting and reconciliation processes run appropriately.
• Evaluates customers’ questions and concerns, provides education, reconciles discrepancies and/or escalates to leadership.
• Develops and recognizes strategies for quality improvement opportunities, proposes appropriate solutions, and works jointly to standardize processes.
• Submits requests for lab charging, price calculation, and fee schedule adjustments through the Charge Master request process.
• Maintains knowledge of current Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines, coding and billing updates, regulatory compliance, documentation requirements, payer policies and laboratory billing practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Laboratory Billing Specialist

• Execute highly specialized billing functions to ensure accurate and timely invoices for Commercial and Industrial, Gas Transport, Solar Gardens, Steam, Chilled Water and Wholesale/Transmission accounts.
• Interpret, analyze and apply a wide range of tariffs and rate structures across Xcel Energy’s operating companies with precision and consistency.
• Coordinate and analyze complex technical data to support billing activities for regulated and non-regulated customers.
• Assess and process interval measurement and billing data to generate accurate and timely customer invoices.
• Research, design, test, and implement customized billing solutions to meet unique contractual requirements for Commercial and Industrial customers.
• Collaborate with various internal departments to resolve complex billing issues, ensure high-quality customer service, and maintain operational continuity across the organization.
• Maintain rigorous data integrity and adherence to billing processes across all operating systems to support enterprise-wide financial reliability.
• Exercise independent judgment and initiative within established parameters to drive billing accuracy, timeliness and compliance, which is impactful to the company’s earnings determination process.
• Work closely with field technicians to identify and address service-related issues, and proactively initiate field maintenance requests.
• Maintain electronic metering information, validate reads, coordinate meter device installs & removals.
• Create & maintain systems sources/databases.

Commercial and Industrial Billing Analyst

• Assist with initiating and implementing of all aspects of the monthly client billing process including: Review and edit monthly proformas as instructed by the Billing Attorney via Paperless Proforma.
• Modify time and cost entries as directed.
• Write offs and write downs.
• Completing transfers, dividing, and combining timecards.
• Ensuring rates are accurate.
• Applying available funds to billing as instructed.
• Verify accuracy of billing.
• Compile supporting back-up documentation, per client billing guidelines as required.
• Acquire and maintain proper approval documentation.
• Finalize and distribute invoices in accordance with Firm and Client guidelines.
• Research and respond to billing inquiries from both attorneys and clients in a timely and professional manner.
• Submit invoices by mail, email, e-billing via eBillingHub and other e-billing vendors as required.
• Set up matters for e-billing on vendor sites and within the firm’s billing system.
• Address and resolve billing disputes and discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Coordinate appeals for rejected invoices.
• Provide client accruals, status updates and budgets upon request.
• Communicate with attorneys, clients, or staff to address billing questions, as needed.
• Maintain contact with attorneys, staff, and clients and observes confidentiality of client and firm matters.

• Own day-to-day billing operations, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and scalability
• Establish and maintain reliable, repeatable processes that drive consistency across billing cycles
• Manage and optimize billing workflows in Zone Billing within NetSuite, including subscription structures, billing schedules, and pricing configurations
• Maintain, configure, and continuously improve NetSuite and Zone Billing to support new products, pricing models, and renewal motions, with a focus on automation and scalability
• Perform and oversee complex reconciliations across systems, ensuring data integrity
• Lead and manage a team of offshore billing specialists, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and ensuring high-quality output
• Create documentation, SOPs, and QA processes to support a distributed team and minimize errors
• Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Revenue, and Engineering to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
• Analyze large datasets to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for optimization
• Partner with Accounting on month-end and quarter-end close, owning the billing-side inputs to revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and AR

Billing Operations Manager

• Collaboration: Collaborate and communicate with CRLs and their engagement teams on a regular basis in order to gain knowledge on billing expectations related to specific industry standards and individual job progress.
• Responsible for continual analysis of past billing and current trends in order to actively participate in billing discussions, up to and including, providing suggested amounts to bill for both standard and out of scope work.
• Information Management: Maintain accurate billing records and files. Continual review of billing information to identify any discrepancies or errors. Work with internal teams to identify and correct any discrepancies or errors.
• Delegate work, as appropriate, to Coordinators. Review and assist Coordinators with complex errors and difficult accounts.
• Analysis: Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and trends across the firm related to client billing. Compare and analyze billing rates and job specifics across the firm to ensure industry consistencies and standards are met. Analyzes billing and complex accounts to help find opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Processing: Process and monitor invoices to ensure accuracy and completeness. Work with CRLs and engagement teams to ensure out of scope activities are properly billed. Prepare and submit reports on billing activities and trends.
• Practice Management: Involvement on other billing-related matters, as needed. May collaborate and assist on items such as new client setup, data validation, creation and maintenance of Billing Schedules. Continually monitor prepaid, installment, and scheduled bills for client WIP consumption.
• Client Service Support: Partners with CLA team members to gather additional information, as needed. Takes the lead on responding to customers’ inquiries and requests regarding billing discrepancies and issues. Communicates updates and logistics to internal clients.
• Revenue Cycle Management: Assist with matters related to the entire revenue cycle such as A/R posting, data management updates, A/R adjustments, A/R helpdesk, ad hoc client expense entries, etc. as needed.
• Financial Analysis: Follows up on aging A/R with engagement leaders, which may include direct interaction with clients. Actively follows up with engagement leaders on large work in process (WIP) jobs that need to be billed.
• Supports the Managing Principals, CRLs, Operations Directors, and Central Billing team members with proactive analysis of production, profitability, and overall financial performance on a weekly basis. Assists with implementation of firm-wide financial processes and initiatives. Assist with audits and other projects, as needed.
• Training: Provides day-to-day assistance to Coordinators within the team. Provide training to team members on new processes and procedures. Assist in training of Central Billing new hires. Assist in development of and maintenance of training materials and resources for team. Assist with Firm-wide training of new systems, resources, and processes.
