Application Engineer

• Identify and develop new business opportunities, introduce new products/services, and contribute to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals.
• Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs, influence specifications, and prepare high-quality proposal content highlighting scope, benefits, and compliance.
• Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals, including site assessments, material/labor requirements, competitive analysis, and support for engineering work scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations, document competitor activities, and support NPI programs to maintain a strong market position.

Electrification Services Application Engineer

• Act as a hands-on liaison between Finance & Accounting, IT, and external vendors for assigned applications, coordinating issue resolution, system maintenance, and enhancement delivery.
• Administer, configure, and support the day-to-day operation of Elite 3E and the firm's integrated finance applications supporting billing, accounting, expense management, time entry, cash receipts, and financial reporting.
• Support system configuration, role-based security, user provisioning, on/offboarding, templates, master data, and change control for applications and platforms under team purview.
• Design, build, test, and support finance-related integrations and interfaces, including Boomi jobs, bank and ACH connections, data imports and exports, reporting feeds, and other upstream/downstream system dependencies.
• Develop and maintain queries, reports, dashboards, extracts, and reconciliations that provide accurate and timely financial data to Finance, Accounting, and firm leadership.
• Monitor application performance, scheduled jobs, and interface processing; troubleshoot failures, analyze root cause, and coordinate timely recovery or permanent resolution.
• Partner closely with Finance and operations teams to support month-end and year-end processing, validate outputs, and resolve data issues affecting financial integrity.
• Translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications and participate in solution design, estimation, implementation, and post-deployment support.
• Execute and support testing disciplines, including unit testing, system testing, UAT coordination, release validation, and defect triage for upgrades, patches, fixes, and new functionality.
• Support custom templates, forms, dashboards, workflows, and other configuration or customization objects within the firm's legal financial management platforms.
• Produce and maintain clear documentation for system configuration, integrations, support procedures, release notes, and operational runbooks.
• Collaborate closely with Accounting, Billing, Collections, AP, AR, Treasury/Cash Management, IT, Information Security, Data/BI teams, and vendors to deliver stable, secure solutions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation that reduce manual effort, improve user experience, and strengthen controls and auditability across finance operations.
• Provide responsive application support, knowledge transfer, and user guidance, and participate in after-hours support or critical issue response as needed.

Applications Engineer – Financial Systems

• Delivering a high standard of technical customer service and building strong customer relationships
• Production issue troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis - you will have access and learn to use our advanced production monitoring tools
• Be part of a team of software engineers, attending stand-ups, and planning sessions
• Investigation of reported issues in the system to make sure we are responding to clients needs in a timely manner.
• Escalation of appropriate issues to the Product and Development teams
• Creating and maintaining concise and clear knowledge articles
• Mentoring for Level 2 (L2) engineers to help them progress in their career

Application Support Engineer, L3

• Support the design and development of single-use solutions for the Fluid Management market.
• Review customer and internal designs, creating concept-to-final assemblies using standard and custom components.
• Collaborate with commercial partners to translate customer requirements into effective product solutions.
• Guide raw‑material selection and develop product designs, cost estimates, and customer quotations.
• Support product setup and lifecycle management in SAP ERP including Item Masters, BOMs, routings, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in occasional travel (<10%) as needed.

Senior Application Support Engineer – L3

• Meet or exceed revenue targets by effectively providing metal cutting solutions, by understanding current and future market trends, to meet customers’ key needs and objectives in a professional manner
• Generating, qualifying, and managing all sales leads, prospects, and new customer accounts
• Proactively managing the complete sales process, including prospecting, qualification, consultative sales meetings, product demos, pricing, terms negotiations, and sourcing
• Developing and executing strategic territory plans to deliver revenue goals with a focus on new product sales
• Providing timely answers to pre-sales technical and commercial queries from customers
• Maintaining up-to-date customer and project records in CRM to ensure a clean and healthy pipeline
• Actively collaborating with internal sales and support professionals, such as Application Engineers, Channel Partner Reps, Inside Sales, and others to provide value and a positive end-to-end customer experience
• Performing online and/or onsite demonstrations of metal cutting products tailored to customers’ needs
• Conducting pre-sales workshops, webinars, and other online/onsite events within the territory
• Representing and promoting Kennametal at tradeshows, conferences, and other events within the territory
• Delivering cost savings through analysis of complex application needs and providing recommendations to support customer business need through tooling and application testing
• Preparing and presenting progress, status, and forecasting reports
