Product Designer

• Lead complex bridge engineering efforts from concept through completion, ensuring high technical quality and sound engineering judgment.
• Solve advanced structural challenges involving steel and concrete systems, curved girders, seismic and ice loading, and other specialized conditions.
• Conduct independent technical reviews, including oversight of third‑party designs, to ensure accuracy, safety, constructability, and compliance.
• Promote strong engineering practices and continuous improvement in design methods, tools, quality management, and technical standards across the Bridge & Structures practice.
• Anticipate emerging technical and market trends and help guide investments in capabilities, tools, and services that strengthen Ulteig's long-term success.
• Serve as a project manager or technical lead on bridge and structural projects for state DOTs, counties, municipalities, and tribal entities.
• Develop and manage scopes, budgets, and schedules with disciplined execution and clear communication.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to support predictable, high‑quality delivery.
• Build and strengthen relationships with key clients, including state and local agencies, tribal nations, and industry partners.
• Serve as a technical win leader on strategic pursuits by shaping win themes and project approach, contributing to proposals with Market and Sales teams, and representing design strategy in select interviews to strengthen Ulteig’s presence in priority geographies.
• Represent Ulteig with professionalism, technical credibility, and a strong commitment to client success.
• Actively develop the technical bench by coaching engineers on judgment, constructability, and client-facing technical communication.
• Contribute to the long‑term development of the Bridge and Structures team through knowledge sharing, training support, and active participation in team culture.
• Foster an inclusive team environment where diverse perspectives are valued, and team members feel a sense of belonging.

National Bridge Design Leader

• Leads important projects in design, development, documentation, debugging and support of the user interface to have best possible user experience.
• Articulates, develops and models the end user experience of the visual design of the application, to make user interaction simple, efficient and consistent.
• Prioritizes and manages work to adhere to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintains awareness of ongoing departmental policy and management initiatives.
• Works whiteboard sketches to full high fidelity digital experiences including responsive web, native mobile, voice, and emerging digital solutions.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to prioritize deliverables, manage and deliver design assets on time, as well as champion the best possible user experience for the brand.
• Creates user studies, user flows, wireframes, UI designs, prototypes, annotations and other deliverables.
• Assesses and optimizes the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing & user research, and interpreting analytics data.
• Collaborates with managers, front end developers, software engineers, and fellow designers to craft the best translation of the brand and Banner services into compelling interactive experiences.
• Develops, maintains, and upholds interactive style guides, design systems, and enterprise standards to assure continuity of experience across digital products.
