Chief of Staff

• The primary purpose and function of the Chief of Staff is to manage the hospital and ensure the highest quality of veterinary care, exceptional client service, associate engagement and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
• This position advocates for pets and their quality of life; builds a long-term bonding relationship with clients; contributes to the development and maintenance of the human-pet bond; educates clients and hospital associates on all aspects of pet health.
• The Chief of Staff partners with the Practice Manager (if applicable) to operate an effective and productive veterinary medical team, ensure a safe and engaging hospital environment, and improve both the medical quality and business performance of the hospital.
• Live and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. within self and team.
• Partner with the Practice Manager (if applicable) to manage the hospital as role models and champions of the Banfield brand to provide consistent high-quality care and exceptional service to the most pets and clients and to maximize efficiency, productivity and profitability.
• Train the team on Banfield guidelines and practices and supervise associates to ensure compliance.
• Oversee and train associates on professional, efficient and exceptional client service (lead by example), to include client education about Optimum Wellness Plans, preventive care, pet health needs, hospital services, marketing campaigns, and other related information; effectively resolve client issues.
• Follow all Banfield protocols and practices and be responsible for ensuring that associates achieve practice priorities while building our culture and brand.
• Identify potential “bottlenecks” and formulate solutions to remove barriers in medical operations that would impede the doctors from providing world class care.
• Partner with the Medical Director, Field Director, and Practice Manager (if applicable) to interview, select, train, develop, coach, mentor and, if necessary, discipline and terminate hospital associates.
• Direct, lead and mentor Associate Veterinarians to realize their full professional potential and deliver outstanding, high quality medical care, client service and business results.
• Work with the Medical Director to establish development plans (PDPs) for the Associate Veterinarians and focus teams to deliver the practice priorities and exceed goals while building our culture and brand.
• Provide effective communication between associates, clients, field leadership and Central Team Support.
• Create a collaborative environment and develop an efficient, productive hospital team that provides the highest quality care and service to the most pets and clients.

Area Chief of Staff

VP, Chief of Staff – Strategy and Operations

• The primary purpose and function of the Chief of Staff is to manage the hospital and ensure the highest quality of veterinary care, exceptional client service, associate engagement and maximum productivity of the veterinary medical team.
• Establish trust and gain the confidence of clients through effectively delivering appropriate preventive care, performing complete diagnostic workups, developing thorough treatment plans, communicating home care instructions, and planning follow-up visits.
• Lead the veterinary hospital team through the daily schedule and caseload, delegating tasks to paraprofessionals and improving hospital efficiency.
• Provide professional, efficient and exceptional service, including prescribing and administering preventive care for the wellness needs of pets as well as diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries of pets.
• Advocate for preventive care and adoption of wellness plans.
• Ensure compliance with all practice policies and procedures and with all local, state and federal laws.

• Maintain a real time view of organizational health, including priorities, alignment gaps, execution risks, and areas of friction, and surface what requires attention
• Design and run the operating system of the organization, including leadership cadences, decision frameworks, and execution reviews tied to measurable outcomes
• Own and continuously improve leadership operating rhythms, including staff meetings, business reviews, and executive reporting
• Drive strategic planning and OKR processes, translating direction into clear plans, milestones, and accountability
• Build and maintain visibility into execution through dashboards and reporting that track progress, risks, and resource alignment
• Lead and drive high priority, cross functional initiatives across PS, TIO and HPS Leadership teams. Identify and remove bottlenecks proactively, driving issues to resolution before they impact delivery
• Partner with HR and Finance on org design, headcount planning, Opex/Initiative tracking and workforce priorities to support scaling the organization
• Drive employee engagement, employee communications, and social media for Sr VP. Lead the solution program management team ensuring ACS solutions are delivered on time and with the customer issue at the forefront of the solution.

• Drive alignment of Global Renewals Sales priorities with overall GTM strategy and corporate objectives.
• Serve as a strategic advisor and operational partner to the VP, Global Renewals Sales , helping translate strategic priorities into actionable plans.
• Provide strategic thought partnership on key initiatives impacting global sales performance, planning, and operational excellence.
• Lead and program manage strategic initiatives across Renewals Leadership from ideation through execution.
• Own critical initiatives and special projects sponsored by the VP, including high-priority or time-sensitive programs.
• Design and manage the operating rhythm for the Renewals organization, including leadership meetings, strategic reviews, and planning cycles.
• Lead agenda development, decision tracking, and follow-up for leadership meetings, offsites, and executive forums.

• Own coordination of the annual strategy and planning process for the Renewals organization.
• Support preparation and orchestration of Quarterly Business Reviews, operational reviews, and executive reporting.
• Partner with Business Intelligence and Analytics to ensure leadership has clear performance insights and actionable metrics.
• Improve cross-functional processes and drive operational consistency across teams and regions.
• Facilitate collaboration between internal stakeholders and GTM leadership to ensure strategic alignment.
• Lead cascading communications from the VP to the broader organization, ensuring clarity and consistency of messaging.
• Advise leadership team members on internal communications, change management, and initiative rollout.
• Serve as a liaison between executives, team members, and partner organizations to support alignment, transparency, and team health.

Chief of Staff, Global Renewals Sales

• Drives the day-to-day alignment, orchestration and reporting for key strategic planning processes to the CEO and Executive Committee
• Ensures various participants meet process and reporting requirements and deadlines
• Works closely with Strategy, One Xcel Energy Way, Risk Management and other key areas to align and standardize planning, reporting and decision-making processes across the company
• Establishes tracking and reporting mechanisms for strategic priorities and objectives and ensures priority and objective alignment across the organization
• Refines, adjusts and helps track progress for corporate incentives, working with HR and Finance, as well as ensuring alignment to Board approval processes
• Coordinates with Communications colleagues to properly communicate company goals and metrics to internal and external audiences
• Supports the execution of Board meetings and key processes, including yearly meetings scheduling, agenda setting, meeting logistics, and related activities
• Oversees and produces key Board communications and regular updates including monthly updates and CEO reports, presentations and messages
• Coordinates directly with Corporate Secretary, General Counsel and Chairman/CEO to ensure all Board requirements are met
• Helps establish the core meetings, meeting objectives and schedules for the CEO and Executive Committee
• Facilitates meetings as required and ensures proper meeting documentation, action item tracking, and follow up
• Ensures all meeting participants adhere to meeting objectives, principles and guidelines
• Assists in the management and orchestration of all aspects of the meetings, including venues, meals, and audio-visual support
• Supports the orchestration of the CEO’s internal and external engagement strategy, including integrated scheduling, correspondence review and response, and preparation and briefings for internal/external meetings
• Provides overall management for the Executive Leadership Team, including detailing group’s primary objectives, meetings, agendas, projects, and communications
• Coordinates with CEO, CHRO, and EC on ELT’s purpose, objectives, operating mechanisms, and success metrics
• Coordinates heavily with peers in the Executive Communications function to assess external engagement requests and supports successful execution of engagements
• Coordinates with CEO Executive Assistant to ensure schedule management and alignment
• Acts as a strategic partner and advisor to ensure initiatives continue to progress, identify gaps and opportunities and help teams move forward with clear plans and strong execution
• Oversees and manages special projects, ensuring they align with the company’s goals, objectives and vision
• Serves as a liaison between the CEO and other executives, employees, and external stakeholders
• Provides the CEO with critical information and analysis to support decision-making
• Attends meeting on behalf of the CEO as requested
