• Analyze clinical and demographic information from health records to assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT/HCPCS codes
• Review and analyze medical records to assign diagnosis and procedure codes for outpatient encounters
• Apply coding guidelines in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards
• Identify documentation gaps and initiate queries for clarification
• Resolve routine coding edits and initiate inquiries for accurate and compliant code assignment

• Analyze complex clinical and demographic information to assign ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and CPT/HCPCS codes across outpatient, surgical, and inpatient encounters
• Support accurate DRG assignment and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
• Perform outpatient, surgical, and inpatient coding, including ICD-10-PCS and CPT procedure coding
• Assign and validate MS-DRGs and/or APCs and ensure appropriate severity of illness and risk of mortality capture
• Review complex documentation, perform queries, and resolve discrepancies and complex coding edits
• Manage multiple work queues while maintaining coding accuracy and productivity
• Provide mentorship and guidance to coding staff
• Collaborate with CDI and providers to align documentation and coding
• Communicate coding decisions and documentation needs to stakeholders
• Identify workflow improvements to enhance coding accuracy and productivity
• Ensure coding outcomes support reimbursement, reporting, and compliance
• Apply updated coding practices to improve consistency and performance
