Business Intelligence Developer

• Use Qlikview, QlikSense, SQL Server Management Studio, Oracle SQL Developer, and other tools to create applications and data models for reporting needs.
• Develop reporting application scripts that import data from various sources.
• Identify inter-departmental dependencies and downstream impacts of changes within reporting applications.
• Recognize and suggest alternative data solutions when applicable.
• Communicate effectively and work closely with a variety of users to develop in BI applications, validate effectiveness, and conduct user testing.
• Adapt quickly to changing reporting requirements and new BI tools in a rapidly evolving, high-growth organization.
• Facilitate in ongoing data validation to ensure data integrity and reliability.
• Collaborate with other teammates to deliver effective solutions.
• Initiate collaborative relationships with business stakeholders and IT.
• Research, suggest, and contribute to brainstorming development opportunities.
• Identify and provide insights into streamlining analytics processes and research improvement opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Dive deep into Zillow's internal and third party data to model data that accurately reflect our customer journey and business processes.
• Design a reusable, modular semantic layer that makes metrics and dimensions consumable across BI tools, data science workflows, and AI systems, while promoting consistency across those surfaces.
• Lead cross-organizational data initiatives that align with company strategy and roadmap planning
• Drive alignment on metric definitions and data governance standards across business lines
• Influence build-versus-buy decisions for analytics tooling, semantic layer platforms, and data governance systems
• Mentor senior analytics engineers as well as shape strategic direction and technical standards for analytics engineering across the organization
• Partner with executive stakeholders to influence how the data infrastructure must evolve to support company objectives
• Operate high availability data and reporting within SLA through quality alerting, detecting issues before customers and resolving with a sense of urgency.

Principal Business Intelligence Engineer

• define and track key success metrics across the Preferred Seller journey to measure performance and identify growth opportunities
• own core business reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and reviews to inform stakeholders
• lead A/B tests, pilots, and experiments to evaluate performance
• use data to uncover trends and optimize seller conversion, sales performance, and operational efficiency
• partner with leaders across departments for actionable analysis and recommendations
• work with Engineering, Data, and business stakeholders to build scalable datasets and solutions
• design clear analyses and visualizations for internal teams to understand performance
• provide thought leadership and mentor junior analysts
