Backend Engineer

• Continuously develop and enhance the VIS-Tool application in an agile environment.
• Design and implement modular extensions to automate order request processes (Abrufaufträge) in the CVS/CPS landscape.
• Replace manual, Excel-based workflows with scalable, web-based solutions.
• Implement functional changes across multiple application modules.
• Develop backend and frontend components using Java, JavaScript, and SQL with Oracle databases.
• Design technical solutions at module and component level within existing system architectures.
• Integrate VIS-Tool with internal microservices, contract systems, and master data sources.
• Provide technical consulting and advisory support to business stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and business teams in cross-functional agile setups.
• Contribute to technical documentation and overall system transparency.
• Support the stability, maintainability, and continuous improvement of the application.

Staff Software Engineer – Node.JS

• **End-to-End Development:** Designing and developing key front-end components and game flow from scratch.
• **Collaborative Integration:** Working side-by-side with **animators** to define project structures, naming conventions, and asset integration.
• **Logic & Optimization:** Proactively refactoring existing features (e.g., pot logic) and updating features to improve performance.
• **Quality Control:** Participating in mandatory Code Reviews and working with the QA team to ensure a stable and bug-free release.

JavaScript Game Developer, Pixi.js

• Lead technical decisions for major platform capabilities and translate business needs into practical technical roadmaps.
• Serve as a domain expert, defining scalable and maintainable domain boundaries and service architectures.
• Design, build, and evolve backend capabilities and APIs across multiple systems and domains.
• Take ownership of end-to-end product features, including scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.
• Drive engineering best practices through hands-on coding, mentorship, and technical leadership.
• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Promote modern software engineering practices including Domain-Driven Design (DDD), SOLID, GRASP, and API-first architecture.

• Lead and mentor a team of mid/senior backend engineers (4–5), including 1:1s, feedback, and performance management
• Translate product and business goals into clear technical roadmaps, sprint plans, and backend priorities
• Own the backend architecture and technical vision for mobile-first, consumer-facing apps used by tens of thousands of daily active users
• Drive and oversee implementation of new features for our mobile apps, working closely with iOS/Android, Product, Data, DevOps and Trust & Safety teams
• Take key architectural decisions around scalability, performance, reliability, data flows, and infrastructure on AWS
• Modernise and improve a large, Ruby on Rails codebase (including version upgrades and refactoring legacy areas) while keeping systems stable in production
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, improve API speed and reliability, and design effective caching and database strategies
• Establish and continuously improve engineering processes, coding standards, code review practices, and deployment/CI pipelines
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation and design specs for backend systems and major initiatives
• Handle prioritisation and trade-offs in a fast-moving environment with changing quarterly priorities
• Be hands-on with coding and code reviews, especially for complex or high-impact areas, and step in during critical production incidents

Lead Backend Engineer, Ruby On Rails

• - **Engineering & Maintenance:** Support and enhance existing game titles built with PixiJS, ensuring they run flawlessly.
• - **Hands History Development:** Work on complex logic to visually reconstruct game sessions and player history.
• - **Core Library Evolution:** Collaborate on the development of our internal game framework, improving its architecture and scalability.
• - **Performance Tuning:** Debug and optimize rendering performance across a wide range of desktop and mobile browsers.
• - **Quality & Standards:** Contribute to clean, maintainable code and help improve internal development tools and pipelines.
