• Create custom real-time visual effects and implement them in-engine using Unreal Engine 5, Unity, or proprietary tools.
• Build high-quality effects for gameplay, environments, cinematics, atmosphere, combat, interaction, destruction, UI/game feedback, and other project needs.
• Create all necessary textures, flipbooks, materials, meshes, simulations, and supporting assets for real-time VFX.
• Maintain clean, readable, well-structured material graphs, Niagara systems, parameters, naming conventions, and reusable effect setups.
• Use tools such as Photoshop, Substance Designer, Blender, Houdini, Maya, EmberGen, or other software as needed to support effect creation.
• Work with complex material setups, Blueprints, scripting hooks, animation events, gameplay triggers, or engine-specific implementation needs.
• Troubleshoot VFX issues in partnership with Technical Art, Engineering, Design, Animation, Audio, and other disciplines.
• Own VFX optimization fundamentals, including particle counts, overdraw, shader cost, texture memory, spawn rates, scalability settings, and platform performance constraints.
• Help ensure effects are readable, performant, and aligned with gameplay needs, art direction, timing, mood, and player feedback.
• Review work from internal artists, partner studios, or external vendors and provide clear, constructive, actionable feedback.
• Help maintain a consistent quality bar across a set of effects, a feature, a level, or a small team pod.
• Support short-term planning by helping break down VFX requests into clear tasks, priorities, dependencies, risks, and definitions of done.
• Proactively identify production risks, including missing gameplay hooks, performance spikes, unclear direction, pipeline gaps, dependency issues, or inconsistent style execution.
• Collaborate closely with Designers, Concept Artists, Art Directors, Technical Artists, Engineers, Animators, Audio Designers, and Producers.
• Support client-facing communication when needed by clarifying requirements, sharing WIP, explaining constraints, and aligning on expected outcomes.
• Contribute to VFX workflow improvements, reusable templates, documentation, libraries, naming standards, or scalability rules when appropriate.

VFX Artist – GameSim

• Create and lead the development of complex animations and dynamic visual effects for EGM (Electronic Gaming Machine) development, including both real-time and pre-rendered content
• Drive and collaborate on the creative vision for animation across multiple game development projects, establishing high standards for quality, style, and player engagement
• Develop storyboards, animatics, and gameplay sequences that maximize excitement and enhance the overall player experience
• Partner with cross-functional teams to define animation strategies, artistic direction, and final animation assets that align with gameplay and narrative goals
• Spearhead the creation of specialized animation techniques supporting advanced game mechanics such as progressive bonuses, jackpots, immersive bonus rounds, and attract sequences
• Mentor and coach junior animators, helping them refine their artistic skills and technical expertise while fostering a culture of growth and collaboration
• Review and provide feedback on animation assets from peers and junior team members to ensure successful integration into the game engine and adherence to visual and performance standards
• Play and evaluate games in studio test environments, Unity builds, and standalone game versions, providing constructive feedback to elevate animation quality and player impact
• Innovate new animation workflows, tools, and techniques, incorporating advanced visual effects such as particle systems and motion graphics to enhance gameplay experiences
• Ensure all animations maintain the intended tone, atmosphere, and visual integrity of the game experience, making adjustments and providing direction as needed
• Collaborate closely with Game Designers, Technical Artists, and Art peers to conceptualize animation sequences that strengthen storytelling, gameplay clarity, and player interaction.

Animator IV

• Create high-impact animations and visual effects for real-time and pre-rendered gameplay
• Craft storyboards, animatics, and gameplay sequences that maximize excitement
• Collaborate with designers, engineers, and artists to define and execute creative vision
• Bring complex game mechanics to life (bonuses, jackpots, feature events, etc.)
• Elevate quality through feedback, iteration, and hands-on problem solving
• Explore new techniques, tools, and workflows to push visual innovation
• Playtest and refine animations to ensure they’re engaging, polished, and fun

Animator

• Designing and animating motion graphics, kinetic typography, and branded transitions for long-form and short-form video content
• Building and maintaining the motion design system, animation templates, and visual standards across all ACQ Media brands
• On-screen graphics, lower thirds, animated title treatments, episodic opens/closes, bumpers, etc.
• Delivery within a design-to-production handoff pipeline that integrates cleanly into editor timelines
• Maintain and evolve the motion design language for each brand (Alex, Leila, Sharran, ACQ) — including timing, easing, color, and typographic animation standards
• Build and manage template libraries for animated lower thirds, title cards, social graphics, bumpers, and episodic title treatments in After Effects
• Ensure motion consistency across all output — every animated asset should be immediately identifiable as part of its brand
• Document motion standards in brand guides and animation style references
• Collaborate with the broader media team to ensure motion assets are cohesive with captured footage and overall visual identity guidelines
• Create motion graphics, animated text treatments, kinetic typography, and branded transitions for long-form YouTube content and social clips
• Design and animate episodic opens, closes, chapter cards, and segment transitions that elevate production value across all series
• Build motion assets that integrate cleanly into editor timelines in Premiere Pro with minimal revision cycles
• Contribute to a shared motion asset library that accelerates post-production output across the team
• Design and animate platform-native motion assets (animated covers, story templates, promo graphics, looping visuals) for Instagram, LinkedIn, X, and YouTube
• Produce short-form motion pieces optimized for Reels, Shorts, and TikTok formats
• Maintain awareness of platform-specific motion specs, aspect ratios, and safe zones to ensure pixel-perfect delivery
• Maintain an organized, tagged, and searchable motion asset library
• Apply file naming conventions and version control across all motion output
• Deliver assets in correct formats, frame rates, resolutions, and codec specs for each platform and use case — zero ambiguity for the teams receiving them
• Leverage AI tools and motion automation (expressions, scripts, plugins) to increase output speed without sacrificing quality
• Proactively catch and correct motion inconsistencies, quality drifts, or brand misalignments before they reach post-production
• Use performance data to drive motion design decisions, not just aesthetic preference
• Continuously raise the animation bar — good enough is not the standard
