About the role
- Lead the global tax function, including direct and indirect taxes, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax provision reporting.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all U.S. federal, state, local, and international tax returns, working with internal teams and external advisors.
- Manage the quarterly and annual tax provision (ASC 740) process, ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop and implement international tax strategies that align with the company's business goals and global structure.
- Ensure compliance with local tax laws in all operating jurisdictions, including VAT/GST, withholding taxes, and cross-border transactions.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of changes in global tax legislation and proactively recommend appropriate responses.
- Manage transfer pricing policies and documentation, including intercompany agreements and compliance with OECD and local regulations.
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Legal, Finance, and Treasury to support business initiatives and M&A activity from a tax perspective.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, consultants, and auditors.
- Lead and support tax audits and inquiries by various tax authorities across jurisdictions.
- Build and develop a high-performing internal tax team and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, or masters in taxation strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including international tax, public accounting, and in-house corporate tax leadership roles.
- Deep expertise in U.S. federal and international tax laws, compliance, and reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and U.S. GAAP tax accounting principles.
- Experience with tax issues related to global expansion, intercompany transactions, and cross-border structuring.
- Demonstrated success managing tax audits and working with global tax authorities.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and collaborative approach with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Proficiency in NetSuite ERP systems
- Experience in a publicly traded or multinational technology or fintech company preferred.
- Prior involvement in M&A, tax structuring, and integration projects preferred
- Familiarity with Digital Assets related taxes, (1099 Misc, 1099 DA etc.) Crypto Assets Reporting Framework (CARF) etc. highly preferred
