About the role
- Provide top-tier engineering support to customers through troubleshooting, or addressing design challenges
- Lead the design and implementation of product life cycle & roadmap activities
- Select and validate suitable sensors, actuators and electronic components for system integration
- Identifying and driving product improvements initiatives including developing new algorithms, identifying system or part obsolescence, and cost reduction
- Develop, maintain, and optimize technical and project processes using JIRA, Confluence, Word, etc.
- Support on-site control system and locomotive commissioning at globally located rail yards
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting products as an Electrical Engineer
- 2+ years of field service experience
- A related degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Control or Electronic
- Proficient in PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, etc.)
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Experienced in all phases of the development life cycle
- Profound understanding of control algorithms and design practices
- Knowledgeable in industrial communication protocols (Profinet, RS-232, etc.)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate to an array of technical and non-technical audiences
- Passion for learning and keeping up to date with new technologies
- Ability to 20%-25% travel and work in industrial environments
