About the role
- The Solutions Engineer ensures smooth integrations, builds scalable infrastructure, and supports client technical requirements in partnership with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- They serve as a key point of contact for technical due diligence, vendor evaluation, and integration alignment with district systems.
- Manages technical integrations with SIS, LMS, rostering tools, and authentication systems (SAML, OneRoster, Clever, LTI, Google, Microsoft).
- Acts as a technical liaison, troubleshooting and resolving integration issues while providing training and documentation for administrators.
- Collaborates with partner districts and organizations to ensure seamless onboarding from a technical lens to The Academies platform.
- Completes technology requirements for RFPs, vendor applications, and compliance documents.
- Coordinates and completes technical questionnaires with vendors to align on security, integrations, and data privacy standards.
- Configures and maintains Single Sign-On (SSO) and interoperability standards.
- Designs, implements, and maintains the data warehouse to support internal analysis and external reporting dashboards and collaborate with other internal and external stakeholders to support data governance.
- Builds infrastructure that supports scalability, multi-tenancy, and compliance with data residency requirements.
- Ensures compliance with FERPA, COPPA, and GDPR; oversees monitoring, audit logging, and incident response.
- Partners with IT/security teams to prepare for audits and enforce policies around encryption, authentication, and secure integrations.
- Gathers, prioritizes, and documents requirements for future technical development.
- Collaborates with release management teams to coordinate deployments and test features post-release.
- Provides structured feedback from district implementations to inform Academies’ product roadmap.
- Ensures testing strategies (unit, integration, load, security) are applied and documented for ongoing releases.
- Partners with sales and business development teams to provide technical expertise during demos, proposals, and client presentations.
- Translates district technology requirements into tailored solutions that enhance Harmony’s value proposition and accelerate deal closure.
- Identifies and recommends new technical features or integrations that open revenue opportunities with districts and partner organizations.
- Supports the RFP process not only from a compliance perspective but also by positioning The Academies' technical capabilities as a competitive advantage.
- Develops technical case studies and success stories from district implementations to support marketing and sales teams.
- Partners with operations, client success, and engineering teams to align technical solutions with organizational goals.
- Communicates complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Supports project management by contributing to timelines, task tracking, and milestone reporting.
- Balances scalability, reliability, and customization needs across multiple districts and organizations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, required.
- A minimum of five (5) years in technical implementation, systems integration, or partner engineering required.
- Experience with SQL and/or modern data tools (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) strongly preferred.
- Experience in EdTech or with school districts/educational organizations strongly preferred.
- Hands-on skills and experience with authentication/integration systems (SAML, OneRoster, Clever, LTI).
- Strong knowledge of databases, multi-tenancy, and data warehouse design.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern DevOps practices.
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with APIs, integration frameworks, and secure data management practices.
- Knowledge of project management tools (Asana, Jira, etc.) and Agile methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize competing demands.
