About the role
- Play a key role in building and supporting WM’s sustainability consulting team’s business development infrastructure
- Help establish scalable processes, document standard operating procedures, and strengthen the team’s overall business development system
- Organize discovery calls with prospects, support proposal and statement of work development, maintain CRM records
- Track weekly pipeline activity while maintaining pre-established standards for professionalism and accuracy
- Self-educate on current sustainability trends to inform process improvements and strengthen team knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Architectural Design, Community Planning or Business
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree
- Three (3) years of relevant work experience in project/business management
- Environmental or services industry experience is required
- Master’s Degree (accredited) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Sustainability, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
- Experience with business development frameworks, sustainability services, or customer engagement models strongly preferred
- Experience coordinating business development activities across various industries strongly preferred
- Experience with intake and discovery note-taking, proposal preparation, and statement of work development strongly preferred
- Experience with CRM or pipeline management systems and supporting weekly roll-up reporting strongly preferred
- Experience managing multiple customers and/or opportunities simultaneously preferred
