About the role
- Promoting the local economy: As a Risk Controlling Specialist (m/f/d), you coordinate the preparation of consolidated and credit risk reports for the Executive Board and our committees, taking into account all risk classes relevant to our institution.
- For the primary management of the operational risk process (with a particular focus on ESG risks), you will involve both the banking area and all other business divisions of VR PLUS.
- You will carry out the overall risk and operational risk inventory and contribute to the development of the risk strategy and the risk manual, as well as to the design of a MaRisk‑compliant overall bank management.
- Your steering-focused activities include assisting in determining risk-bearing capacity, supporting the planning process, performing cost and revenue calculations, and optimizing our data stock.
- As part of your varied responsibilities, you will also provide professional leadership to your team and continuously advance risk-controlling processes at VR PLUS Bank, taking possible legal and regulatory changes into account.
- Finally, as a Risk Controlling Specialist (m/f/d) you will independently lead various projects that fall within your area of expertise.
Requirements
- You have completed vocational banking training and obtained further certifications.
- Ideally your qualifications include certification as a Bankfachwirt (certified banking specialist) or a university degree in business administration.
- You have several years of professional experience and bring solid specialist knowledge in risk controlling—preferably within the cooperative banking sector (Genossenschaftsverband).
- In addition to confident use of MS Office (especially Excel), your digital skills include competent use of bank-specific applications such as VR Control, EGON or agree21.
- Structured and analytical thinking and judgment are among your strengths, as is an independent and flexible way of working.
- Thanks to your reliability, enjoyment of collaborative work, and strong communication skills, you will be a valuable addition to our VR PLUS Bank team.
