Financial Planning and Analysis

• Overseeing all accounting related operations and leading the accounting team ensuring accuracy in financial records
• Preparing journal entries and performing month-end close activities
• Assisting in financial reporting
• Maintaining and reconciling the general ledger accounts of the Company’s subsidiaries
• Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of accountants and finance executives
• Allocating responsibilities, setting performance goals, and conducting regular performance reviews
• Providing coaching and training to enhance team members’ technical and analytical skills
• Preparing the organization's general ledger accounts by recording transactions, posting journal entries, and ensuring accuracy and completeness in financial records
• Performing monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts to subsidiary ledgers, bank statements, and other financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies
• Supporting the preparation of financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Analyzing variances in general ledger account balances and investigating discrepancies to identify underlying causes
• Identifying opportunities to streamline general ledger processes; enhance efficiency, and strengthen controls
• Preparing and processing government remittances (VAT returns for UK entities and HST returns for Canadian entities)
