About the role
- In consultation with key stakeholders, develop and implement effective stakeholder relations and communications strategies to support the development of the project(s).
- Develop and maintain relationships with government agencies, stakeholder groups, local councils and the community.
- Assist in developing responses to media enquiries and events.
- Prepare and oversee responses to project related correspondence.
- Provide stakeholder management services to project teams, including issues management, stakeholder relations, media relations, advertising, events, web content and publications.
- Assist the communications and community relations activities across a portfolio of projects within VIDA Roads by providing support and strategic advice on communication and engagement activities.
- Liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders in an issues-rich and complex environment and work within project delivery teams and other teams across the organisation.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of public relations, media relations, and reputation management strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for diverse audiences.
- Expertise in managing high-level internal and external relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, business leaders, and community groups.
- Experience in crisis communications and issues management, with a calm and strategic approach under pressure.
- High proficiency in digital communication tools and social media platforms, including data analytics and content management systems.
- Strong understanding of political and regulatory environments and their impact on communications strategies.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience in organizing and leading events, briefings, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
