About the role
- Drive the digitalization with strong business-oriented mindset by designing and delivering innovative IT solutions that enhance customer experience as well as accelerating R&D and engineering performance
- Ensure our solution development supports and secures the achievement of strategic business objectives
- Lead strategic planning and execution for global application development, lifecycle management, and end-to-end data flows within the domain
- Provide strategic leadership for your domain by shaping long-term roadmaps, influencing enterprise architecture, and aligning IT initiatives with Valmet’s business strategy
- Oversee domain-specific roadmaps, budgets, and solution architecture to ensure scalability, security, performance, and cost efficiency
- Guide business areas in adopting standardized, cost-effective solutions that support global operations and maximize value creation across the organization
- Promote responsible innovation, including the ethical use of AI technologies to unlock new business value.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT leadership, strategic planning, and turning vision into action
- Strong background in R&D and Engineering solutions, with a clear understanding of how IT drives business value and customer satisfaction
- Demonstrated ability to drive cost-efficient, scalable, and secure solutions across complex environments
- High level of accountability is essential — you take ownership of outcomes
- Excellent communication skills in English, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills
- Experience in contract, vendor management, and budget management
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across organizational boundaries.
