About the role

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of backend engineers working across data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration systems.
  • Stay hands-on—review designs, guide architecture decisions, and contribute to code in Python and Kubernetes environments when needed.
  • Partner with the Head of Infra & Eng to define technical roadmaps, delivery milestones, and success metrics.
  • Establish lightweight, high-impact engineering processes that improve reliability, speed, and quality (CI/CD, testing, code review).
  • Drive clarity and accountability across projects, ensuring alignment between engineering, product, and customer outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and operational rigor.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, and the ongoing growth of top engineering talent.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong technical background in distributed systems, data infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • Deep fluency in Python and cloud infrastructure (Kubernetes, Docker, AWS/GCP/Azure).
  • Track record of shipping and operating complex production systems.
  • Experience establishing scalable delivery processes and engineering best practices.
  • Exceptional communication, mentorship, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance technical depth with execution speed.
