About the role
- Write persuasive, high-converting ad copy for our sponsors that aligns with their goals and TLDR’s editorial tone.
- Partner with our sales and marketing teams to refine and improve outbound templates, follow-up emails, and pitch decks.
- Write and optimize paid ad copy across platforms (Meta, LinkedIn, newsletter sponsorships, etc.) to boost CTRs and conversion rates.
- Craft and test landing page copy that drives measurable conversions (ie. leads)
- Develop and maintain TLDR’s voice, tone and messaging across all channels.
- Use data and testing to continually refine messaging for better engagement and outcomes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience writing conversion-focused copy across multiple formats: email, landing pages, and paid social ads
- Must have a portfolio of conversion-driven copy (ideally includes results)
- Primary skills:
- Used to working at lean teams and having a high degree of ownership
- Understand conversion psychology (pain points, value propositions, CTAs) and have the ability to apply it
- Comfortable with iterative testing and using performance data to refine copy.
- Marketing to marketers is a plus (especially demand gen/performance marketers)
- Secondary skills:
- Excellent communicator; thrives in fast-paced, autonomous environments
- Clear, persuasive writing with a direct-response mindset.
- Strong attention to detail (grammar, tone consistency, brand voice), and ability to adapt tone for different audiences (e.g., tech marketers, developers, founders, etc.).
