About the role
- Build, enhance, and maintain a high-performance, distributed, microservice-based digital advertising platform serving Disney video and live TV properties
- Contribute to Disney’s programmatic advertising suite (DRAX), integrating programmatic demand into the Disney ad server in real time
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners and engineering teams on design and implementation of products and features
- Design, implement, and test solutions in a high-throughput, low-latency microservices environment
- Enhance systems’ observability with proper metrics, monitors, and alerts
- Read and translate product user stories into actionable tasks
- Take ownership of one or more of the team's domain areas
- Understand and use automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policy
- Participate in On-Call rotations and support schedule
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience
- Proficiency with Java and ORMs
- Experience with ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks
- Relational databases, such as MySQL or Postgres
- Demonstrable analytical / problem-solving skills
- Great communication, collaboration skills, and a strong teamwork ethic with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with SpringBoot and related Spring projects (preferred)
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred)
- Experience with modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (preferred)
- Experience with data streaming mechanisms such as Apache Kafka, Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS (preferred)
- Domain knowledge in the Ad Tech industry (preferred)
- Available for On-Call rotations based on the team’s escalation policy and support schedule
- BS or MS in Computer Science / Engineering or relevant work experience
