About the role
- work alongside our Engineering team to bring innovative fixture designs to life.
- support clients, sales teams, and engineers by creating detailed SOLIDWORKS models, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) for quoting, prototyping, and production.
- gain experience with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic.
- collaborate with vendor partners to understand fabrication techniques and manufacturing processes.
- assist with revisions, redlines, and documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency across all engineering deliverables.
- collaborate with Product Development, Design, and Sales teams to engineer creative and cost-effective fixture solutions within project budgets and timelines.
- assist in understanding project objectives from clients, Sales, or Fixture Development Project Managers.
- create detailed SOLIDWORKS models, drawings, and BOMs for prototype and production use.
- participate in prototype testing and analysis with internal teams and vendor partners.
- generate PDF drawings and CNC-compatible files for production.
- maintain accurate documentation and revision control for all models and drawings.
- build all CAD models following TBG Engineering SOPs.
- support edits and revisions based on production feedback and material considerations.
- participate in TBG’s Intern Program trainings and meetings.
- perform additional projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Requirements
- currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in CAD/Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
- experience or coursework in SOLIDWORKS CAD modeling.
- basic understanding of engineering drawings and processes.
- detail-oriented and capable of handling multiple facets of a project simultaneously.
- strong visual understanding of design and materials.
- eager to learn and ready to apply your education in a real-world engineering environment.
- communicate effectively with team members, cross-functional partners, and vendors.
- adapt quickly to shifting priorities and new project needs.
- organized and accurate with documentation and revision control.
- demonstrate curiosity, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach to learning.
- comfortable collaborating across departments — including Design, Product Development, and Sales.
- familiarity with Photoview 360 or Visualize rendering tools (a plus!).
- basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator) (preferred).
